Bannan ???

Recommended Posts

I just saw Bazza in Ocean Blue chippy in Chap, drinking an Irn Bru whilst waiting for his Mars bar to finish deep frying.

He says he "oot", combination of slight injury and wrapping himself in cotton wool for his medical at Kenilworth Road. Also says Fizz is his natural successor in the engine room so it's "nae bovver" that he's not playing anyway.

Weren’t there suggestions half our key men weren’t fully fit for the Huddersfield games? Forestieri, Lee, Hutchinson…

Anyway we’ll find out one way or another about Bannan in a couple of hours.

My prediction - out of the first leg, hoping he’ll be able to play a part in the second

Not necessarily...Moore may say we will give it 24hrs blah blah blah.

Neil says he isn't playing mind games..and Bannan will be fit.

So he is playing mind games 🙂

As influential as Baz is, a middle 3 of Luongo, Byers and FDB would be absolutely fine. An injury to Hutch/Storey or Gregory would be more costly because of the weaker back up in their positions. The cover in centre mid leaves me confident no matter what, FDB was arguably man of the match at MK Dons, he's a good replacement for any of the 3 in midfield

The club should keep anything concerned with Bannan's fitness tightly underwraps, lets keep the Mackems guessing until the teams are announced an hour before the game.

And give them the boost just before kick off if he is injured?

If Barry isn't playing, but they thought he was, then they would have prepared for him playing.

It would make no sense whatsoever to announce he isn't fit until we have to.
