I bet Calvert-Lewin lies awake at night wishing he’d signed for a Scottish club.
Perhaps he and his agent don’t think he has what it takes so go and play in Scotland and earn some good money? Fair play if so

I bet Virgil Van Dijk wished he'd never signed for Celtic 🤪

See it works ALL the ways

And you still completely miss the point.

What other offers did the lad have? Stay at sinking Wednesday heading for League One or join one of the biggest clubs in the UK? You’re in complete denial if you think he’s made the wrong decision.

Time will tell if he has made the right decision. He could go on to be a decent player or fade into mediocrity. His choice and wish him well. But we have much bigger concerns right now.

Yes we do. But this is just another thing in the long line of things to be concerned about under Chansiri’s Sheffield Wednesday. All these things add up and create the absolute clusterfook we’ve become

It would be interesting to see how much the uk compensation would be. Much higher than 300k but the top clubs get some great deals as seen with Harvey Elliot recently where the 4m quid was spread over a long period and subject to various clauses.

It's not as much as you'd think. Ethan Ampadu is a fair comparison. 8 games for Exeter at 15yo before Chelsea moved for him. They were expecting much more than they got. £1.3m plus £1.2 in add ons (matches played and internationals etc). They did get awarded a 20% sell on clause though, which could be a big earner. Doubt we'll get awarded one on a international tribunal.

But we know that, but staying up is our priority, going down truly could be the end of the club.

Recruitment/coaching staff have to take some blame IF we didn't try and tie him down to a new deal before all this, did DC offer enough/do enough? If so, was the lad already adamant on leaving, or was our offer way below current market?

Good luck to the lad, and I really hope George Hirst becomes a success,  as has been said, football has become a murky underworld, but we expect players to be loyal

Anybody in this thread that's triggered, need’s to give their head a wobble

There are far greater things to worry about on and off the pitch in the coming months.
