Paul Cook “ If you’re not allowed to manage, then you’re an employee and not a manager.”

Recommended Posts

Paul Cook has spoken tonight on Talksport about the Wednesday job. He has been approached. Talks no longer ongoing.

The quote in the thread title again struck me. Very similar to what Danny Cowley said on Sky Sports before the Derby game. And it also reinforces what Carlton Palmer has said in the press.

Come on DC why do these managers keep saying the same thing! What is it about the job that’s making them have reservations?

Just now, striker said:

Best leave Thompson in charge then.

Doesn't seem the type to rock the boat, has respect of the players and is an actual football coach ..which is what Chansiri seemingly wants rather than a manager.

And there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

Such a shame watching what this club is becoming.

Something is wrong with the way DC is doing things. Surely?

Bruce walks out after 6 months.

Monk kept alluding to issues behind the scenes and ‘certain situations’.

Pulis lasted 10 bloody games.

Why is the Sheffield Wednesday job a seemingly impossible one for any manager?

you've answered your last question with your first question

He's basically just ruled himself out after being approached for talks and previously stating he was interested.
He's doing it all wrong and is absoloutely clueless, running our club further into the ground.
"If you’re not allowed to manage, then you’re an employee and not a manager"

Roll on another left field unknown yes man.

Simple...they all nodded yes, however you want to do it Mr. C.

It's been obvious for yonks, not one of our managers have anything to do with recruitment...and they knew when they started

Owner too hands on. He has the final say he said so himself. It’s tempting when it’s your money.

Too many chefs in recruitment or making decisions. Although to be fair a lot of clubs do not just leave this to the manager now.

We will be getting a head coach to manage the players “the club” and what that constitutes these days deciding on the squad. With his input no doubt but not his control.
