Paul Cook has spoken tonight on Talksport about the Wednesday job. He has been approached. Talks no longer ongoing.

 

The quote in the thread title again struck me. Very similar to what Danny Cowley said on Sky Sports before the Derby game. And it also reinforces what Carlton Palmer has said in the press. 

 

Come on DC why do these managers keep saying the same thing! What is it about the job that’s making them have reservations?

The one constant is Chansiri and his poisonous advisors. They are the problem, not the various managers that receive most of the blame. Cook should have been given the job not one of these dodgy foreign coaches that Chansiri can control.

He's basically just ruled himself out after being approached for talks and previously stating he was interested.
He's doing it all wrong and is absoloutely clueless, running our club further into the ground.

Simple...they all nodded yes, however you want to do it Mr. C.

 

It's been obvious for yonks, not one of our managers have anything to do with recruitment...and they knew when they started

I find it staggering if anyone’s going to say this is Cook and Cowley turning down the club rather than chansiri not offering it.

 

This whole thing about manager and control, it’s outdated. Look on the continent, recruitment often works as its own entity with an input from the manager.

What about the advisory board of Pearson, Roeder, Hill, Senior and co who left their role soon after they were employed?

I've said this before, but the most important thing in any new manager is that they understand and accept how the chairman wants the club to operate... Not for one second do I think this is a good thing, I just think it's the truth.

Owner too hands on. He has the final say he said so himself. It’s tempting when it’s your money.
 

Too many chefs in recruitment or making decisions. Although to be fair a lot of clubs do not just leave this to the manager now.

 

We will be getting a head coach to manage the players “the club” and what that constitutes these days deciding on the squad. With his input no doubt but not his control.

Not saying it is but Paul Cook and Danny Cowley have reservations about managing Sheffield Wednesday.

 

Let me repeat that.

 

Paul Cook previously of Accrington and Wigan, Danny Cowley previously of Lincoln City, have reservations about managing Sheffield Wednesday.

 

Two pretty average managers who have never managed a club the size of ours have reservations of managing the club.
