0114
When Steve Bruce left the club mid pre season. You’d think he would be out lining up the new coach? No he was on holiday and took 8 weeks to replace him with a manager that was already available when Bruce left! Upon hiring Monk, when asked at the press conference why he had choose Monk, DC answers “because he did good with bad players”.

This after half a decade of having more tiers for POTD than we win home games in a season, requiring an excel spreadsheet and an A-level in economics or a numerate subject to interpret properly.

Popular Post FlyingOwl
I backed him at the start. Naively. Out of hope. I backed the high prices and I apologise for that. This is whilst the club was riding a massive wave though and things were good. I couldn’t see where we’d fail. In hindsight, the red flags have always been there. I went to one final steering group meeting a few years back, not been since. But it was the final straw. Nothing major but the penny just dropped for me. He didn’t get the club at all. He was stubborn to a fault and the meetings were POINTLESS because he had no intention of doing anything we asked. Hours spent going over ticket pricing and he’d just say ‘well I did cheap tickets for this random Tuesday night game in the middle of winter and not enough people came to justify continuing’. That fan survey he sent out where he asked if we’d rather pay high ticket prices for continued investment or if we’d rather pay lower prices and his investment into signing star players would significantly decrease. We voted for continued investment and I think we went on to have some of the worst transfer windows ive seen. The man’s a fraud. We’re his play thing. He’s not a businessman. Ultimately, and I don’t think I’m alone in saying this, but I really don’t care what league we’re in. I just want our club in the hands of someone who can run us sensibly, rebuild a club structure and culture that we can recognise again. As fans, ‘’aggressive attacking football’’ is always the dream. But ultimately I want a group of players who want to be here and would run through brick walls for each other. The way we’ve been run I think we’re really gonna need to take quite a significant amount of step backwards in order to go forwards again. The first step is getting rid of the man in charge though. It’s time to go! 11
