Sultan_Pepper
I thought he looked ok after a couple of games then picked up an injury. As usual for us and for him
shezzas left peg
The lads not fit, not sharp and needs to apply himself more. We need players that want to put a shift in for 90 minutes for close to 46 games a season consistantly contributing. So with his track record and what he showed at the second half of last season... It's a no from me.
Guest wilyfox
I’ll always be torn over Connor because I rate him, but I don’t believe we’d get 40 games out of him. We need someone robust.
Kew Owl
Lack of fitness and sharpness was clearly evident last season - but, let’s face it, if he was fully fit and firing on all cylinders, there would be a queue of clubs after him and we’d be way down the pecking order
Frank_Lucas
Get him back at all costs!!!!! We will soon have him in shape and running riot with the league.
cowl
I do rate Wickham also, but we just can't have players this season that we're waiting quarter of a season for before they get match fit, play well for a few games then get injured again.
daveyboy66
Do people actually think that Connor is fit enough to play the high pressing game that Monk wants ?
DIPPS_S.W.F.C
Id be happy with Rhodes,Windass and Wickham, couple of our U23's too, think that is the best we can hope for in our situation at min..IMO... BIG Dave,Fletcher,Winall....???or Rhodes,Wickham,Windass,i'll take the that trio over other.... UTO....
Dutch McLovin
Wickham would be a massive upgrade on what we have. And would want to come. However he would not be fit all the time. My preference would be to get him back. Others wont be and I understand why. Wickham is a different level to the likes of Kachunga & Windass.

The Night-Owl
I too rate Wickham but his fitness and injury issues would be a deterrence. Also, I don't think he'd suit how we want to play, a fitter Wickham, like during the time when we thrashed Leeds several years ago would be ideal. I think we'd be best off looking for a more dynamic, fitter and athletic type of striker on loan from the top flight or a bargain from abroad. I'd like us to go for a more all rounder type of striker, someone that can lead the line but also chase lost causes down, score different types of goals and give us legs upfront. Some of the best strikers at this level in recent years have been young strikers on loan from the top flight or bargains picked up from abroad or the lower leagues. Shetland Owl
Whickham didn't do anything when he came last, too injury prone for me

I know he didn't show much whilst on loan with us last season but wonder if we will be getting him back Guess what, he's not been involved because he is injured. https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/palace-boss-roy-hodgson-explains-why-he-has-changed-formation-in-pre-season/ Hope we don't opt to try and get him fit again. Apart from the fact he moved like he was towing a caravan until after lockdown, he is quality. But quality comes at a price we won't be able to afford. DJMortimer
Just looked it up. Since Wickham left us the first time round (six and a half years ago), he's appeared in only 68 games and almost 20% of those were for us this season.
Guest
Wickhams injuries will finish him off, he’s played nowhere near enough football for a long time now Not someone we should be looking at
NeonLeon
He’s quality but he’s on huuuuge wages and his body has seemingly had enough. For his sake he just needs to get to the end of his Palace contract, he’ll never earn that sort of money again. He must’ve been thanking his lucky stars last year when they extended his contract to take in this season. Someone in the Championship will take a gamble on him next summer, like we did with Fletcher. Hopefully he can find a remedy to his ailments and start putting some 30-40 game seasons in before he retires. He should be unplayable at this level, but his fitness stunts any momentum or form at the minute.
