archieswfc
Interesting to see that Bernardo Silva has received a 1 match ban for racism. How is this justified?

Didnt think there were grades of racism, thought any occurrence was a minimum 6 game ban? As for Silva, premier league = £££££££ and expected nothing less as they seek to protect the cash cow brand. royalowlisback
Both completely different things. Fessi was a case of a Championship player, at a provincial club, and a he said/she said case - with no actual proof, cleared in a court of law but tried in a kangaroo court. 6 game ban. Silva is Premier League player, at the world's richest club - with evidence anywhere you wish to look. 1 game ban. Anyone expect anything else?

"The player did not himself intend the post to be insulting or in any way racist. It is clear that the tweet was intended to be no more than a joke between close friends. FF was foung guilty of a deliberate and intentional racist insult. It is a very different case let's be honest. I thought the FF ban was total BS by the way so dont shoot the messenger.

Ethel The Tree
The 'case' involving L**ds keeper might be a better comparison The FA have already drafted in Spanish lip reading experts to prove his guilt But now they've granted extra time for club and player to lodge an appeal What's the betting their 'strenuous denials' carry more weight than ours? I take your point and broadly agree, but still think racist abuse on the pitch (assuming that is what FF was found guilty of) is a more serious charge than team-mates poking fun on social media (albeit in a way that, whilst seemingly harmless to me, was probably ill-judged).
