If only we had a court of law in this country to deal with criminal allegations like this so the FA could stick to footballing matters.

It was alleged that words used by the Sheffield Wednesday player during a friendly fixture against Mansfield Town FC on 24 July 2018 breached Rule E3(1) as they were abusive and/or insulting.

It was further alleged that the words constituted an ‘Aggravated Breach’, which is defined in Rule E3(2), as they included reference to ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race.

So is he getting banned for alleged racism which is based on the say so of one player, or because he admitted calling the player his mother's c___ in Spanish?

This.

Upheld in a court of law, but found guilty by the FA.

Laughable

FF spends every close season either wanting away, injured or under investigation for suspension.

Decent player at this level.  Not worth the hassle though.  Should have sold him after he refused to get on the bus to Norwich.

Now is not the time to degrade him but to support him and this time he has been wrongfully punished

Happened with Terry so it’s no surprise.

The FA are scared to death of falling on the side of dismissing allegations like this incase they throw out a genuine instance. They’re basically putting their own reputation before the players. In the grand scheme of things it’s not even a decision that affects Mansfield or their player. There’s no request for an apology from FF to Pearce etc. It’s just an exercise to make it look like they’re acting on something.

I think there is a difference required in the level of proof - in criminal court the verdict relies on a lack of "reasonable doubt". In civil court the verdict rests on the "likelyhood of probabilities". poo I know.

Good strong statement that. The club were clearly expecting this given the speed and eloquence of the statement. I really do think this is less about the ban rather than the s stain in his character. Every we know about him personally points to this being totally out of character and therefore unlikely. If the allegations are just Pearce's word against his surely previous conduct should come into play.

Not sure how long appeals take but he should be available for the first couple of games at least. How the hell it's taken over a year to get to this point I'll never know. Having something like this hanging over you for over a year after already bring banned and fined once is bad enough but then to have it end with another ban and fine is just ridiculous.
