Without Hooper I dread to think where we might be now.

Probably ok.

Amazing how much better players become when they aren’t playing.

He is costing us a fortune yet we are getting around half a seasons wort of appearances - another croc.

This sort of thing really needs to stop and we need players who can play 35 games plus.

Asked him before game on Friday and he confirmed to me he won't play this season.

Gutted.

Shame but there’s less than 5 weeks left of this season so no real surprise, I don’t think we’ll see anymore players apart from matias returning until next season now

I don't think all these players are duffers.

I think it's us.

We've always had injury problems at this club. Always.

We could sign players with top fitness records, and they'd still be infirm on our books.

Does anyone know if that training pitch was relaid when the main pitch was?

The amount of cash we're wasting right now on crocs is beyond a joke.  10m a season on jizzumble all.

Need to try and offload as much of this bobbins as possible close season, incl. Fox + release all out of contracts apart from Nuhui.  At least he is fit and gives 100pc for the club whenever called upon.

Rhodes/ Fletcher/ Abdi should never wear the colours again, stealing a living.  I like Matias in terms of potential and ability but he is worst of all in terms of injury prone.

Shame we prioritised overpaid, over the hill hasbeens vs youth and we may not be in the Hirst stalemate.

agree we need to wright this all off as a huge mistake ,it will take 2 years at least maybe 3 to clear all the dead wood out and prepare our squad properly with fitter ,younger players ,we cant withstand a 26 million plus wage bill full of deadwood if we want to compete in top 8 over next 1-2 seasons .I'm just hoping financially we will be able to keep forestieri ,bannan etc as we don't know how big our black hole is,and they with reach are our only sellable assets what would bring in big fees.

There's none of that going on here, Hooper is an excellent footballer, its getting him on the pitch that's the issue. His 10 league goals this season are now proving very important given how close to the bottom we have been.

The impact he made when he came back at the end of the season and the void he left when he got injured for the playoffs was incredibly noticeable. It's not just his goals, his general play is excellent.

Clubs will always take a punt on injury prone players in the hope that they'll steer clear of injury, players who have a track record of playing more games always have a higher market value.

The weird thing with Hooper at S6 is that he seems to have had different injuries, when he went off against Fulham last season it was hamstring, now it seems to be his hip? (apparently). Is he a croc, or unlucky? When I saw him with Bannan in the megastore he seemed to be fine which I know was part of the reason some fans were a bit suspicious about the whole thing.

It looks to me that he and the club made the decision to sort this injury to give him the best chance next season, as its his last contracted year its a massive season for him.

The above being said by my reckoning Hooper has played for us 83 times and has scored 30 goals, so he has been far from a lost cause.

How bad must his hip be? Is he 84 years old? It’s borderline ridiculous, how can you be out for this long?

It would be nice to hear the bottom of it. Yes I understand doctor patient confidentiality but he’s hardly being probed up the bum is he

Excellent footballer? Hmmm..probably stretching things a little far imo

He had a reasonable record at this level but the irrefutable fact is that he misses too many games.

We cannot mount a constant challenge if we have too many players who can only play in 20 or so games.

This season has been a perfect example.  Without our core players we are lower Champ at best.

Where on earth is fletcher too? Has he broken a leg? Because that’s the only reason I have for him missing this much. It’s just all a complete mystery, like what’s even wrong with fletcher? lol

He's had a knee operation

Please advise us of your medical qualifications.  Do you specialise in sports injury by any chance?

Not stretching it far at all, at this level he is excellent and without injuries he could have easily played in a side in the bottom 8 of the Premier League. Also, as I mentioned already, Hooper brings more to the game than just his goals.

People seem very confused about his 'injury' issues. The first season when he joined us in late October he played through the whole season. It was last season where he did his hamstring and appears to have been rushed back meaning he missed the playoffs. And it is anyone's guess what is going on this season.

The player we signed had played 34 games in his previous season, 35 in the season before that and 51 in the one before that. The player we signed was no crock and hopefully if he isn't rushed back we can see him back fully fit next season, as we're a much better team when he is playing. If he has similar issues next year there's no doubt we will have to look elsewhere regrettably.

to be fair KL is now walking around fine, he's not in pain and he even said at weekend he thinks he could play now, but the club obviously feel he's not ready yet which is good, shows he's being looked after properly this time and hopefully he will repay that next season

How about we suck this season up, admit it was a complete disaster of a 150th both on and off the pitch and move on to the next with hope.

DC and his staff have learnt the hard way that you can't 'sub out' running a football club and allow clowns to abuse look after your prized assets. The Club, players and fans should all be back to full fitness by August and we can push on as we should have after 2016/17.

Well, if correct, that's the best news I've heard for a long time.  Get this lot fit with a proper pre season then we can see what Jos is made of. We have so much ammunition at the club it's frightening. Can't wait for next season.

well that's good to hear ,whats changed since carlos was here ,same medical people ,k lee ready to give it ago ,the difference is clearly this manager wont do what carlos did what was criminal as in sending a player to lilleshall for an injection to get him training following day ,then 2 week later playing after having a major hip op 2-3 months before. I knew that this was a crazy gamble at the time ,hopefully we will have him proper fit by august.

One of the best in the division.

That isn't stretching things at all.

He's been a consistent performer for us throughout his time here. The issue is ensuring he's on the pitch, and not injured off it.
