So over half a stone per player on average - don't think so. Jos must have brought some new scales with him.

Apparently it’s a quarter of a stone from each player and 100lb from Palmer’s spare tyres.
Lord Snooty
Hooper is a terrific footballer. His ability to link play (especially when we were outnumbered in midfield last season) is absolutely first class. When he drops off into that pocket receives the ball and sticks his arris out there's not a centre half in the division that can deal with him. The way he bumped John Terry onto his back side at Villa Park this season being a great example. Where he fits into Jos' system is for debate but whether that's as part of the front two or playing the linking job in behind them I for one can't wait for him to be available and raring to go next season. It'll be an interesting summer, because this system , if anything makes us even more top heavy with 'strikers' as Fernando and Matias must be ruled out of the wide positions while ever we play 3/5 at th back. debram
Great player but injury prone, no good to us playing half a season or less, shame but must be offloaded.

Thing is. .at 30 if we let him go...how much would it cost to replace him if Jos decides he definitely wants that sort of player available to him. A lot more than we'd get for Hooper himself, if you see what I mean. His value to us is probably higher than his value. If that makes any sense. Agree, and love Hooper - he's the best reader of the game we've got at S6, and the fact he's so drastically changed his game to fit successfully into our frankly bizarre style of approach play is testament to that - but just to play devil's advocate, his 'value to us' has to take his wages etc into account. He's of an age where we'll not get full value to us for him on the open market, but he's an expensive luxury if he's not scoring/assisting 20 a season. Give him 40+ games and he'll easily hit that target; 15-20 games and not so much. If he ends up costing us £50k+ a goal, especially when Atdhe is currently costing more like 50p, and if we're really squeaking through FFP, then the likes of him and Fletcher start to look like very costly assets. I really want Hooper to see out his upper-EFL years here, but if we're not in a position to bankroll a slow decline then we need to be ruthless. I'd certainly give him next season under Jos's seemingly much stricter fitness regime to show he's got the physical side under control, but if he repeatedly breaks down again I think we say a very reluctant thanks and applaud him on to the next phase of his career. Sonny
He’s a quality footballer. Some people’s judgement is clouded by a purple patch for Joao and Atdhe. Hooper is on another level.
