But are the training pitches not where our U23's and U18's play? If so are they also picking up an inordinate number of injuries? The U23's and U18's are kids so they are more resilient. The geriatrics in the first team break very easily.
Earlsfieldowl
Don’t think it really matters - he needs to be in the best environment to recover quickly. Whether thats here, Spain etc is irrelevant In any case he isn’t much use to JL at the moment and I am pretty sure JL will pick up with him when all parties are ready. Looking at the latest pic he’s wearing gloves a neck warmer and thermals so I think it’s cold must just be specialist training
Box_Man
Thing is, he is clearly starting to do light training, surely this is the time to be back at Middlewood. Its a bit bizarre he STILL isn’t back yet.
Owls77
Given our record of getting players fit, more than happy he does it elsewhere. January predictions seem a bit optimistic, hopefully we will see him next month!

Dutch McLovin
I think it’s now been decided we’re doing thins slowly in the getting players back department. 2 months sounds like a good amount of time for him to build up fitness and recover properly. I’d prefer this than the CC way and rush him back. This season is gone. It’s all about prep for next. Give some of the youth and fringe a chance, make the more established favourites work to get fit and back in. Use the loan market to get a look at potential full signings in the summer. If we do this could be a good second half of the year.
UEA Owl
I think CC said Jan/Feb return would have been ahead of schedule anyway, so it shouldn't be too surprising, coming back from knee surgery (I think ligament related) often takes a long time. It's probably better not to rush him anyway, which Carlos may have done, as he had done so with FF and other players previously.
Bouncing Owl
Why didn’t Forestieri go in for his knee operation at the end of the season in May. We all knew he was struggling. Instead, he plays for a few games and he clearly wasn’t right and as a consequence he will miss the vast majority of this season . Really poor management ! I keep seeing Instagram pics and vids of him with his training kit on and with the ball so why not at Middlewood? anyone know owt? Or is he just still miles off? Let me think , Southern Europe and Mediterranean weather , or freezing his balls off at Middlewood Rd ? Difficult choice.
fife_owl
Maybe the surgeon hasn’t cleared him yet - given the history they might be checking Fessi’s knee As they increase the work load.

Every other player you hear going to these various specialists don’t then spend over 3 months away from the club training on their own. As soon as he is starting to get into light training which he clearly is as an employer I’d expect the club to be telling him to report back to Middlewod. Based on the picture of him yesterday he’s still in Madrid, he must surely still be weeks away from a return or he would be back in the UK with his team mates. If he was 4-6 weeks away from a return to the starting 11 he would be back at the club, he’s not going to rock up next week and be picked the week after is he? Box_Man
I’ve just seen Jos says he’s probably out for another couple of months so it now makes sense, he’s still got a long way to go in his recovery by the sounds of it. I think we all want him back ASAP and January was touted for his return...more like March by the sounds of it.
BarnsleyOwl96
Just to note wasn’t it his acl he did? If so it was around mid September and 2 months from now makes it mid March, that’s 6 months so that’s not a bad length of time to be honest

Box_Man
He didn’t tell me personally, it has come out in his press conference today, probably mid / end of March.

I'm an Essex Owl
As long as he comes back as soon as possible fit and well then does it matter where he recovers? Think we are looking for shadows where they don't exist

I thought the training pitches had been upgraded to a higher standard than they ever were before. Think the problem is more to do with lack of intensive conditioning and players 'playing through the pain barrier' etc.with minor injuries. It also seems in Kieren Lee's case he was rushed back into action very unwisely last season. This season seems to be different with players given longer recovery before returning to the team.
