If people think we play boring and uninspiring football now, how is getting GM back going to change that? West Brom got a goal ahead on saturday and then parked the bus for the rest of the game. Conceded to go 1-1 and then held on for a point. What is the difference between this and what we have now?

Get a fookin' grip.

Megson has a great eye for signings.

We wouldn’t be lumbered with half the dross Carlos the clown has signed.

When we got promoted in2012 we needed a Stuart gray, Gary megson, Tony pullis, style manager to keep us up with limited resources. That's what those kind of managers do, they play percentage boring football because they specialise in getting the best out of a group of players that are essentially playing in a league that's too good for them

We should not need that kind of manager now, we have (or certainly had) the resources to buy an attacking team capable of challenging for the top 2.

Bad football under megson but....we did make chances.

A bit like Exeter away or Chesterfield. err I can go on the football was insipid and as has already been stated is no change from what we have got already. If we are wanting free flowing fast moving football I hate to say it but Meggo is not our man.

CC would probably get us a bore draw at Spurs as well... thing is neither of them would get owt at Bolton, B/ham, Burton, Reading, Preston...

swapping CC for Megson, is like swapping an Uno for a Micra, both are shlt

Hey..............I had a Micra once................................it was sh111t though.

Some people have very short memories, GM wouldn't have got us out of L1, we were on a slide when he was sacked and the football was awful.

We beat the pigs because he'd just made the signing of the season in Antonio.

Handed it to Jones on a plate

Why does everyone insist Megson played rubbish football with us? Is it just cos he's an unfashionable manager? My memory of his time here was generally us getting the ball out wide to Ben Marshall, an exciting  winger (remember those?) that he signed, and getting the ball in the box. We were also absolutely lethal from set pieces. And as for being negative, I thought he always tried to win games for us, especially at Hillsboro. Far more entertaining than what's an offer at the moment.

Personally, I'm not bothered whether the football is direct or the sort of stuff we played in 2015/16, as long as we create chances and we actually try to win games. Give me attacking hoofball over the present sideways, one chance-a-game, negative rubbish any day.

While I agree with you that the style isn't that important it seems to be what the majority of fans want to see. The issue I'd have with Megson is when plan A doesn't work there really is no plan B. Like you say at times we played some great stuff when Marshall was on it and he was getting the crosses in for Madine and O'Grady. This team isn't really built how Megson would want and any new manager would have to work with this squad.
