One of the most hostile environments I've been in for some time. Have a fair day all, next time I'll write about what we'd all like for tea and hope there's nothing too upsetting or controversial in there.

Dont mind people having a gripe but dont spout unsubstantiated drivel.

If you're so sensitive, then Owlstalk is not the place for you:columbo:

I've got a lace hanky wafting from my cuff.

The window cleaner had me in tears last week, claiming I owed for last month.

There's got to be a place for me on this forum..and others like me.

Not so quick to judge SiJ. Just seen Mr C painting the turnstyles.

Anyone else seen him busy? And if so, doing what?

Saw him kicking the s**t out of a part timer who had been complaining about ticket prices, with a paint brush still in his hand obviously!!!   (DC, not the part timer, he was moaning about the shade of blue the turnstiles were going to be)

I very much doubt we are saving much on McGugan. Mutual consent usually means a big pay off which will probably mean the majority of his remaining contract. As far as the boxes are concerned out of 28 available (DC has 2 for himself) 10 have been sold at more or less 40k + vat so he can hardly change the price now. Agree with the OP about ticket prices. The rest is pure speculation concerning who picks players etc. I would have thought nobody else but Carlos chooses the players to go after but he does not negotiate the finances, that would be down to the chairman.

DC is a hands on kind of guy, but only to an extent. If by hands on you mean he mops the floors and paints the railings you're wrong.

What he IS hands on about is where his/the clubs money gets spent. He scrutinises every penny to a degree which was unheard of in years gone by under previous leaders. He wants to be sure he is getting the best value for said money. This leads to frustration from fans and staff alike.

The reason that there are no shirts for us to buy is because DC refused to pay extortionate prices to the likes of Sondico, Adidas et al. He similarly didn't back down when their original "in house" supplier decided to vastly increase the price.

The catering issue has also come about because of his attitude towards spending. Pukka are gone because they wanted too much of the profits, so they've chosen a more reasonable supplier. The concourse staff is a different matter. That issue predates DC and I suspect will outlast him too.

There are reasons to see this in a negative light - you could say that certain people in positions of power are incompetent due to the lack of shirts and taste of the pies, and call for heads to roll. However if you take a step back, and look at things with an open mind you can see that the club is trying to do things right.

It's easy to jump on the negative bandwagon and let the neg-monster take hold, but you have to fight it.

Why don't you go along tomorrowand go see the guys and girls whose job it is to run the club and just say "Thanks for your efforts". After all if it weren't for DC the club wouldn't have made it to their 150th anniversary, but been wound up by HMRC instead. Then I wouldn't be able to sit here and complain that I don't have this seasons shirt.

So is DC, Joe or any of the executive incompetent? Hardly. Is DC naive to the ways of football? Possibly. Is he loaded and keeping the club afloat? Definitely.

Conspiracy Theory Number Three - Chansiri is trying to save money by doing everything himself. This is most likely of all my theories. This is not the way to do things and get the club to change and grow. We are paying the footballers enough, pay good money to the right people to manage the club professionally please.

It started as a serious post that lost its identity and validity when I started trying to be light hearted with the conspiracy theories.

Simply, just concerned we've got some key elements of running the club slightly out of sync and speculating Chansiri should use experts for those areas. Be that the manager or an elite commercial professional.

I thought it's about time we discussed our Chairman and what he has done for the club to date. The best thing he's done is buy us, put some money up and make us a contender.

As well as that, some of the things that are going on are beginning to worry me, don't worry it's not a meltdown, just a review.

TRANSFERS

We are lead to believe that someone other than Carlos is in charge of player recruitment. If true, I find this very odd. Surely a manager knows what he needs and there is more chance of a signing being inappropriate if another person is interpreting what the manager needs. Is this Chansiri? It would be wiser to give Carlos more freedom to get the men he wants and thinks will work.

Conspiracy theory number 1 - The reason we got Carlos to manage and have continued to keep him on is because Chansiri or Atti is effectively playing Championship Manager with a real club and players. They employed Carlos to be the charming chap and the face of the club because he was the only man available that was up for this.

KIT and MERCHANDISE

For me this is a bigger concern. I reckon you could pay someone £100k a year to just manage this well and deal with it professionally and sensibly. It pains me to say it but get whoever is doing the Blunts, they're far superior to us on that level. The £1m a year we will now save after shipping McGugan off should be spent on giving us something to back up the amount of money we are shelling out to watch us.

Conspiracy Theory Number Two - Atti has been put in charge of procurement at the club after Dejphon saw it as the perfect work experience opportunity for his son. He was befriended by someone on-line from Australia who claims to be a specialist in kit supply. Elevate is an anagram for Vee Late, hence the delay.

TICKET PRICES

This annoys me the most. I do not profess to be a marketing expert myself.

A young family with no affliation to any side take an interest in football and want to go and see a match. Where will they go? Brammall Lane cos it's cheaper.

What is better, selling no corporate boxes at £×××××× or most of them at half price? Make it a fantastic experience, one they would hate to lose and gradually increase price year on year.

£49 for a category A game in second tier is scandalous. We are so rarely close to being full, why not charge less and get them in, more takings on the merchandise that you have got the £100k professional to sort out and the top level customer service ethos you have embedded into your club.

Conspiracy Theory Number Three - Chansiri is trying to save money by doing everything himself. This is most likely of all my theories. This is not the way to do things and get the club to change and grow. We are paying the footballers enough, pay good money to the right people to manage the club professionally please.

which bits - he doesn't really get any that's unjustified and any genuine concerns are just shouted down.
