Hands On Chansiri

I thought it's about time we discussed our Chairman and what he has done for the club to date. The best thing he's done is buy us, put some money up and make us a contender.

As well as that, some of the things that are going on are beginning to worry me, don't worry it's not a meltdown, just a review.

TRANSFERS

We are lead to believe that someone other than Carlos is in charge of player recruitment. If true, I find this very odd. Surely a manager knows what he needs and there is more chance of a signing being inappropriate if another person is interpreting what the manager needs. Is this Chansiri? It would be wiser to give Carlos more freedom to get the men he wants and thinks will work.

Conspiracy theory number 1 - The reason we got Carlos to manage and have continued to keep him on is because Chansiri or Atti is effectively playing Championship Manager with a real club and players. They employed Carlos to be the charming chap and the face of the club because he was the only man available that was up for this.

KIT and MERCHANDISE

For me this is a bigger concern. I reckon you could pay someone £100k a year to just manage this well and deal with it professionally and sensibly. It pains me to say it but get whoever is doing the Blunts, they're far superior to us on that level. The £1m a year we will now save after shipping McGugan off should be spent on giving us something to back up the amount of money we are shelling out to watch us.

Conspiracy Theory Number Two - Atti has been put in charge of procurement at the club after Dejphon saw it as the perfect work experience opportunity for his son. He was befriended by someone on-line from Australia who claims to be a specialist in kit supply. Elevate is an anagram for Vee Late, hence the delay.

TICKET PRICES

This annoys me the most. I do not profess to be a marketing expert myself.

A young family with no affliation to any side take an interest in football and want to go and see a match. Where will they go? Brammall Lane cos it's cheaper.

What is better, selling no corporate boxes at £×××××× or most of them at half price? Make it a fantastic experience, one they would hate to lose and gradually increase price year on year.

£49 for a category A game in second tier is scandalous. We are so rarely close to being full, why not charge less and get them in, more takings on the merchandise that you have got the £100k professional to sort out and the top level customer service ethos you have embedded into your club.

Conspiracy Theory Number Three - Chansiri is trying to save money by doing everything himself. This is most likely of all my theories. This is not the way to do things and get the club to change and grow. We are paying the footballers enough, pay good money to the right people to manage the club professionally please.

We are used to managers in this country. Traditional managers do the signing of players, buy players they want in particular positions and then train the team to play in the way the manager prefers. The big trouble is that if the manager gets fired a replacement comes in who wants a different lot of players and a different system. The Continental system is that the club decides on the style of play and buys players to fit the system, the hire a coach who coaches the players in the clubs system. If the coach leaves another is hired but the playing staff remain unchanged.

We have gone over to the Continental system but only part way and it seems a bit of a muddle. Carlos wants to play his way but the club is buying players to fit a system which they then don't play. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of it but the above seems to fit what we see. I don't see Att involve at all and I don't think DC picks the team, I suspect he is advised by an agency on transfers.

Kit, It's a mess but it is a transition from one system to another. There's a hiccup but it will get sorted eventually. Next year we will be better prepared

Ticket prices. people either pay them or they don't. with attendances high the club must have got it right. Maximise income is the aim of most businesses. High crowd figures and eye watering prices  is perfect for a business, if they got it wrong crowd sizes would be falling. I know a lot of people don't like it but until they stop going the club won't reduce ticket prices.

If someone buys a football club it is obviously their plaything. I think we are lucky with DC he does take the club seriously, there are a lot of owners who are much worse. DC has put serious money into the club, I hope he is our owner for a long long time.

Chansiri is way too much hands on, at the last home game, half an hour before kick of he was the car park attendant. I went for a p at half time and I saw him selling pies.

WTF:

I think you're fibbing there aren't any pies left at half time.

You think this is hostile?

Stick around for a bit Tom and you may change your mind

Seriously though...the stuff that you put about transfers is a load of nonsense. Not convinced you were "joking", but whatever.

As for the commercial side, I think you'll find very few sticking up for the club in that regard.

Yes, Braddo, I think you might be right there... A month hence what's gone before may seem like peace and tranquility. lol

Massive month coming up.

Carlos and the players need to get their arses in gear.

Indeed, a poor run of results culminating with a poor display / defeat against our porcine neighbours could be season defining and the end of CC

I am being serious in that I think Chansiri is too hands on. You can't do everything yourself in a business the size of Wednesday and there are 3 clear areas I feel could be improved if he took a backward step and got some professionals to sort it.

Agree to hands on just been moping up in executive boxes

The idea that someone is haphazardly spunking millions of the family fortune based on the whim of a kid seems completley OTT to me.

Then again , some people think 'The eye of the beholder' is simply a phrase  which means beauty doesn't exist on its own but is created by observers.

When I know that 'The Beholder' is actually a dimension travelling monster which has echoed through all time and space devouring world's with its energy sucking vacumous retina.

beholder.jpg

The Earth has been under threat many times over the millenia as The Beholder passed through. Though it wasn't until 2014 that he last entered our Universe and decided that we had advanced enough to make a decent meal.

Luckily we had signed Stevie May by then and the Scottish Warlock and his flying shark horse Selachdestrier managed to defeat the Beholder and skewer out the eye of the beast.

It ,the beast, floats now blindly in space. No doubt eating other world's.  Waiting once more to build up its power and energy.

May locked it's dangerous  eye ball safely in an adamantium ball (designed over 100 years ago by his countryman and fellow warlock Archibald Leitch) , the only thing strong enough to hold it and there it sits today entombed  on the South Stand roof.

So next time you hear an unexpected boom at the ground. Or the P.A system seems to crackle unexpectedly to life. You will know, or should it is a power surge from the eye. One that signals that out there somewhere in the vastness of dark space the beholder is regaining his strength.
