Have you had your head in a bucket mate, he's had plenty.

I guess he's more aiming that at the "Defenders of DC" who descend en masse with pitchforks at the ready for all with justified questioning and valid criticism

My take on the defenders is that they just don't want to admit to themselves that we might be going in the wrong direction.

Its understandable. We waited years for a savior. And all assumed that all our problems could be solved by chucking money at it.

Well running a successful club is a little more complicated than that.

DC is a hands on kind of guy, but only to an extent. If by hands on you mean he mops the floors and paints the railings you're wrong.

What he IS hands on about is where his/the clubs money gets spent. He scrutinises every penny to a degree which was unheard of in years gone by under previous leaders. He wants to be sure he is getting the best value for said money. This leads to frustration from fans and staff alike.

The reason that there are no shirts for us to buy is because DC refused to pay extortionate prices to the likes of Sondico, Adidas et al. He similarly didn't back down when their original "in house" supplier decided to vastly increase the price.

The catering issue has also come about because of his attitude towards spending. Pukka are gone because they wanted too much of the profits, so they've chosen a more reasonable supplier. The concourse staff is a different matter. That issue predates DC and I suspect will outlast him too.

There are reasons to see this in a negative light - you could say that certain people in positions of power are incompetent due to the lack of shirts and taste of the pies, and call for heads to roll. However if you take a step back, and look at things with an open mind you can see that the club is trying to do things right.

It's easy to jump on the negative bandwagon and let the neg-monster take hold, but you have to fight it.

Why don't you go along tomorrowand go see the guys and girls whose job it is to run the club and just say "Thanks for your efforts". After all if it weren't for DC the club wouldn't have made it to their 150th anniversary, but been wound up by HMRC instead. Then I wouldn't be able to sit here and complain that I don't have this seasons shirt.

So is DC, Joe or any of the executive incompetent? Hardly. Is DC naive to the ways of football? Possibly. Is he loaded and keeping the club afloat? Definitely.

All good, very good in fact. It's about time we stopped having our pants pulled down but while we're at it could you get him to have a word with our in house match day ticket supplier as they have also decided to vastly increase the price?

It strikes me that it's the people who are attacking the chairman who have the pitchforks. I'm all for criticism where it's justified but it has to have some structure to it whereas it can be used to the clubs/supporters advantage. The vitriol directed towards him and his family just isn't justified. Had one clown on a couple of weeks ago (sorry, I can't bring myself to say what he did) talking about the blokes daughter. Yep, I understand that's just a snapshot but it's getting too regular now.

Talk about fickle footy fans, a couple of years ago we'd have killed for a bloke like this, then as soon as we get one we do nothing but castigate him. Is he perfect? I don't think so, but what he is, is he's ours and he needs our support, as he will eventually get it right unless he says f... it and f..s off. Sorry for the rant, but I was petrified a few years ago that we'd finished and were gone.

I'll be honest - i never go on twitter or Wednesday facebook or anything else than here really

But we all know there's a line and if morons wanna cross it then be it on their head

But come on, some of the happenings at S6 are absolutely farcical and shambolic - and it's not a crime to point it out and ask valid questions or raise genuine concerns

Fair points, on balance he's made a really positive contribution to the club. All the problems seem to be from a bizarre inability to delegate or think strategically and you would think they could have been managed much more efficiently.

Absolutely, company's pay good money for honest feedback. This past month I've changed ISP, called the emergency plumber out for the boiler and something else which slips my old mind at the moment, only to have texts asking me to give feedbackAs I said before, consecutive feedback is relevant and companies love it, it's how they improve. When the said feedback is tainted with vitriol and what could be considered as hatred and jealousy then it becomes useless. The hatred and jealousy comments may be /are over the top but you get my meaning.

Wouldn't disagree with that mate.TBH, as previously stated, he could leave us right up the creek. Yep, love to read about the young un's, great to see the team doing well, top half championship is good for me (maybe not for him LOL) but the be all and end all is the club. The club is everything to me.

Yeah the long term security of the club is the main thing. The guy has pumped millions into us hasn't he but it's just frustrating he doesn't maximise what he's doing. If he tightened up the transfer policy and just left the other bits and pieces catering, kit etc. to specialist people we'd probably be better off.
