The Graph Thread 2017/18 - This season compared to previous two seasons

Recommended Posts

Just before CC came here, we were drawing so many matches.

Then 2015/16 all that changed

sexy football, decent players & a trip to Wembley.

Now we've gone slightly retro with badges & kits & drawing games.

Back to back home draws aren't so bad

Especially as we could conceivably have won them both

A win at Burton and we look very healthy compared to the last two seasons.

Great stuff Ryan.

One of the key pointers is to aim for 10 points from each group of 5 games. A tall order but broken down into manageable chunks.

You see how you have done after each group of 5 games, the one thing you don't do, as we Owls have a habit of doing, is to count your points total before you have played the games.

This week we have Burton at a similar point in the season. Last year not only were the three points from Burton long before we got to the ground but our goals total was estimated to be between 3 and 6. We got our arses kicked and deservedly so.

This time around let us plan carefully drop our chauvinist attitude and return with the three points no matter how scruffy we achieve. Then we can take stock, we will still be behind to the tune of -2 in our ten points from five game scenario; So more work to do !

Agreed.

However, for the auto's we have to get rid of the standard Wednesday problems - maximum points from teams in the bottom 3rd (which is where I suspect Burton will be) and take three points off promotion rivals.

Not too worried about the start, but I expect cc to be setting us up to break teams like Burton down,  and then smash and grab teams like Middlesbrough and derby.

Thank you Ryan and others for as positive thread based on fact not fiction.

I cannot help feeling that if some of the negative posters (e.g. Grandad) can be persuaded to attend far flung away matches to support the team then surely we will get automatic promotion! Even at 7 quid a pint

lol
