When fit and in a central position Altman Abdi will light up this league. The prospect of Alman, Nando and Hoops together is mouth watering.

But who's going to win them the ball and what are they going to do with it when we spend most of the game passing it around the back four?

That Vim fella certainly took us to the cleaners.

Yeah

Typical Ajax kind of player...

In fairness to him he was always good at cleaning up after the back.

We scoured the market for him didn't we.

This is unfortunately our problem

There can't be another squad in the championship that wastes talent like ours

Carlos has his own ideas about 'shoe horning' players into his team but it's often the wrong decision and the tactics are as negative as watching an Alan Irvine side passing the ball sideways against Yeovil.

Huddersfield and Reading have dodged a bullet this season because Carlos has missed the easiest opportunity for us to finally get promoted.

Have lost all confidence in the bloke.

He woulda looked a better player in his first few games if he wasn't playing on the left wing!

Why? He's used to playing as a wide midfielder.

Abdi's Premier League appearances for Watford last season were as follows: 18 on the right of midfield; 9 on the left of midfield; 5 in central midfield.

Really...he looked so out of place.

Maybe that's why he got dropped!!

He was either playing injured or lacked desire to do the job (he's more than capable of doing) that was asked of him.

When he came to us and gave an interview he said he was looking forward to playing in his favoured central role, he was banged straight on to the wing.

By the fact of him saying that suggests he was told thats where he would be playing.

But the point remains, he can play wide at a decent level and do it well.

When he was failing to make an impact against worst opposition in a worse league but the same position you have to ask questions of application. Not just say he's not in his favored position.

If it's a case of I played shybo because you're not playing me where I want, get rid. Sometimes you do what the team needs not what you want.

If its a case that he played carrying a knock, keep him as his flexibility to cover central, or wide is great. Which other player has played all three roles at prem level??

What about this.

                    Westwood

        Lees   Loovens  Hutchinson

Hunt        Bannan      Lee        Reach

                         Abdi

             Rhodes      Forestieri

Forestieri in place of Reach and Hooper up front with Rhodes for me

Good player for a different team, I just think he didn't /hasn't really fitted in here for one reason or another. I think similar to matias, he'll move e on and maybe go somewhere else and be fantastic for them. Just hadn't worked out with us. We've a few now, add McGugan and lachman to that list as well as Joao, who seemed to regress a little rather than getting better.

Yep Abdi will probably be sold to someone like Fulham in the summer and become the best player in the league next season

Although he has had injury and fitness problems, there were a few games when he was either only on the bench or Dom howson said he was fit but wasn't picked for tactical reasons.

Hopefully for his sake he finds himself at a team that will use him correctly next season

Abdi wasn't ever 100% fit for long enough.

He was given an early run to get fit and got injured again.

Just as he was finding his feet on his later run his shoulder fell off.

He and we were unlucky with his injuries this season.

Another example of supporters making stuff up about both his natural position and availability for selection and finding an imaginary stick to beat CC with.

Let's just hope we have him available next year and he returns to be the player we bought to add something to what we have already.
