Watch the replay. A right footed player who curves the ball to the right of the goal only has to get the pace right to beat the keeper, even if he's a yard off his goal line when kicked. torryowl Posted January 25, 2017 Share Posted January 25, 2017 I always get the feeling with FF pens that if the keeper goes the right way he as a good chance of saving it ....the one fletcher got against rovrum was the perfect pen hard and just inside the post is almost unstoppable . Essentially a way to artificially reset everything mentally. Don't understand why, once everything was nearly calm, he didn't just walk up to the ball, give it a little jiggle in his hands, then step back to restart his run up. mattitheowl Posted January 25, 2017 Share Posted January 25, 2017 No such thing as a good or bad penalty (as long as you hit the target). Just a goal or not. If keeper guesses right fair play. But if you trickle it down the middle and the keeper dives out of the way nobody will mention it. If keeper pulls off a decent save then automatically it becomes a bad pen. Just not bothered...
