Ellis Rimmer
At the risk of repeating myself my understanding is that the design of the memorial was the one asked for by the families. Happy to be proved wrong howeverI've heard that too, weird choice!
darra
I've heard that too, weird choice! A memorial garden in Hillsborough Park with a 'You'll never walk alone' gateway. A headstone at the junction of Middlewood Road, Leppings Lane and Wadsley Lane, near the ground and by the Sheffield Supertram route. Didn't know about the garden and maybe the description of it being a headstone explains the choice
sweetsheri
How much is a new ground? Minimum 30m? You could do a lot to Hillsborough with that. The Emirates cost 10 times that mate
Box_Man
Move improving non match day revenue is critical to long term success for our club We need to attract a new fan base in future years, it needs to be off the parkway or attercliffe with loads of car parking, retail outlets, eateries basically another centertainment, Hotels, new housing, parks, regeneration on a large scale additional tram stops etc Needs collaboration from the council, FA Need to look to the future, and try and find £300 million to fund it

camffiti
Bugger em we held top flight football for 9 years after as well as European Championships so Unfortunately the media & society now, have a much bigger need & desire to be offended
punkskaphil
The Emirates cost 10 times that mate Difficult to really compare costs of stadia though. Cardiff's cost less than £50million. It wouldn't surprise me if DC had looked into what it would cost for us to build a new stadium in comparison with a major upgrade at Hillsborough. Socialist_Owl
Redevelop. Cardiff's and Coventry's new stadia are soulless toilet bowls of identikit quality. Hillsborough is legacy and needs to be preserved.
Rogers
Derby do okay in their new stadium, great atmosphere to by the sounds of it Correct - Pride Park must be 20 years old now. You don't hear Derby fans banging on about the Baseball Ground. Clubs move on...maybe we should
DobbinTheDonkey
The Kop is a beautiful sight when full and bouncing as it was today. Edited April 30, 2016 by DobbinTheDonkey
Guest Fedor
why would it create a better atmosphere ?Acoustics, everything is too big and open at Hillsborough , the noise doesn't carry. Would have to disagree on that. New grounds have terrible atmospheres in general. Look at man city. Excellent atmosphere at Maine Road when they were sh i t. It's like a morgue now with double the fans and a good team. That's to do with the fan base not the ground. They now have the type of fans Chansiri is after. Guest _Ibbo_
Old Trafford and St James Park are two stadiums that have been renovated superbly. However if we get to the PL... 30k will be to small. We got that today without the 'part time PL fans turning up'.
Guest _Ibbo_
Actually IBROX and Celtic par as well. IBROX is actually classic. However there are acres of prime development land out at catcliffe and the AMRC. A lot more that it seems from google maps.
Guest Kameron
Would love to see redevelopment but after yet another slating on national TV and press, its time to move. The people of our great city need to start and defend it, Sheffield is not all to blame for that awful day in 1989 no matter what 7 of the jury decided. We cannot continue pandering to this Safety advisory group, why have we given up a full stand to accommodate 1000 away supporters? We are paying the price for an incident that happened 27 years ago that was no fault of our supporters.
Guest Grez Bez
Sat on the Kop today and realised how much we need more facilities behind. Also the queue at half time to get back into the stand was a joke with loads getting severely annoyed!
