Official Summer 2015 Transfer Rumours Megathread

Recommended Posts

So we get to keep £35m for a rainy day

Get to the PL and we'd have a lot more than that for a rainy day.  :stuwinky:

The rewards far out weigh the negatives, especially when there is no real punishment for breaking the FFP rules.

The likes of QPR will get away with a fine they can cover with their TV and parachute money. And you can still sign players under a embargo too.

If we've got it (no idea if we have or not) we should spend whatever it takes to get there just like Chansiri said.

Other teams will.

If we were to "go for it", spending big, I suspect that might happen 2016/17 when the £39m 3yr FFP aggregate kicks in.

I don't believe we'll be as active in the summer as some people think. We need players but I think we'll continue to look initially at the best frees. We may see one or two fees spent McGugan and a striker but the big push will be next summer when the FFP rules are relaxed and also when I believe we'll have a new head coach?

I think we'll push the boat out a little more than that; but not obscene - which it would need to be to attract the unlikely such as Adam and Phillips. I'm sure Chansiri will strike a happy medium. Brentford made the top six spending £1m/head on the likes of Gray, Jota and Odubajo. I'd hope for that level of spending this summer, reserving a little more for a striker perhaps.

I think it all depends on how aggressive Chansari wants to be this summer ,seeing as he has stated he wants promotion by 2017 , which basically means  we have two chances of doing it by that time. will he go all out this summer to get promotion next season or will he build for the season after with a more considered approach ?

He may think because the financial  rewards of promotion  are so high he wants to go for it big time next season  .

This summers shopping will give us the answer.

Not sure how he 'can go all out' either this season or next without breaking some rules or exploiting loopholes (if there is any lol)

Because the rules change...twice.

Since when did "all out" mean £50m?

All out, to me, means maximum expenditure permitted - which more than doubles this coming season, with average aggregate losses adding greater flexibility the following three seasons.

Which bit of

'Financially aggressive'

'Everything necessary'

'PL by 2017'

'Frighteningly ambitious'

'Resources available to have a crack at the PL never mind the Championship'

are you all struggling to understand?

But you can't quantify all of that.

Which he did in the press conference

No he didn't. At no stage did he reveal the budget for players.
