he must realise that if he questioned decisions once in awhile people might think he might have a point, but saying it every game is like a cracked record and boring

Steve Evans post Birmingham City...

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans felt that his side deserved something from the game after a narrow 2-1 defeat at Birmingham City.

The Millers trailed 2-0 at the break after goals from Robert Tesche and Clayton Donaldson but they dominated the second 45 with Matt Derbyshire reducing the deficit.

The visitors returned rejuvenated after the interval and dominated for large spells but were unable to capitalise in front of goal with Millers’ boss Evans pleased with his side’s performance after the restart:

“We’ve given them a hiding in the second half but we go away with nothing,†he admitted.

“We showed the character that we asked them to respond with and we laid siege to their goal for a period of time. We perhaps needed a little more calmness and patience in that final third, Jack Hunt in particular got himself in three or four good positions but we just didn’t get that little bit of luck.â€

For the all the second half endeavour the hosts hung on with the Millers leaving the Midlands empty handed.

The Millers’ chances suffered an early setback when Tesche opened the scoring in the Midlands with Donaldson inflicting further pain soon after which left Evans attributing the goals to a lapse in concentration:

“There are a lot of errors in the goals. Its individual errors and we’ve spoken about it before, but we’ve got those individuals so we’ve got to fight through it with them.

“We didn’t have players playing to the system, you could say we should be 0-0 at half time but our two central midfield runners don’t match them for the first goal.

“At this level you get punished and I think in League One we would have turned that around and won 4-1, I don’t think anyone can dispute that.â€

The rodger are you talking about?

Apparently, Steve Evans is Brendan Rodgers best mate and it turns out Rodgers "might" be a secret Owl.

I said it sarcastically ;)

Rodgers watched Irish when he played for us in the 90s.

Don't think your 1966 bit is correct though.

How does Evans not keep getting fined for these comments? Is it less monitored outside the Premier League? It seems a manager only has to cough in the direction of a ref in the Prem.

Apparently the Football League don't want to invite fatty to a disciplinary hearing as they have to provide lunch and refreshments. Even fining him the maximum they could not afford his elevenses snack, let alone five past elevenses. As for lunch.................
