With say 1000 fans post covid I'm sure you could set up a compressive family club and start climbing the football ladder. How far realistically would you expect to get ? You only have to look at the fans that created fc United they have been going 15 years now and still haven't made it into the league Even in non league now without decent backing financially you won't ever make it and I don't think many fans on here would give you 15 years grace and be happy still watching non league afterwards
Manwë
Ditch the Sheffield prefix.
matthefish2002
I know disgruntled fans of other clubs (Man U, Liverpool, Bury, Blackpool) have set up their own club, but I always think they are enough local non league clubs already to follow, some been around longer then Wednesday. My advice is to go and watch them instead rather then set up 'AFC SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY'

CE-Owl
I'd prefer putting money into an AFC The Wednesday playing in the North East Counties League than putting any more money into Chansiri FC

Maddogbob
Lots of historic local non league sides that could do with your money, would be my thoughts.

CircleSeven
To be fair Sheffield FC already exists. It’s the worlds oldest club!
mcmigo
The standard of football in the lower leagues is absolutely awful. It’s a romantic vision, the local club, bovril and honest players who don’t dive. The reality is poor players walloping the ball on muddy pitches, and awful amateur club politics off the pitch. Hitcat
What I'll be doing is supporting Sheffield Wednesday. Don't have to worry about all those promotions from the lower tiers as they're already in the Championship. Already onto a winner.

Generates Billions, attracts the worlds best players, full stadiums, huge tv audiences. Problem was it came at a cost. If your not in it you are fudged. Grass roots football is dead. The national team is shizz. It’s like a morality tale of what happens when you sell your soul for ‘success’. 1

Mac_77
Daft idea. Option 1 - set up a new club and support AFC Sheffield Wednesday and in 10 years be watching conference north football. Option 2 - Stay put and support Sheffield Wednesday FC and in 10 year be watching conference north football. All Rhodes and all that
