GOALS 2 & 3

Recommended Posts

Not condoning the mistakes, but watching them again, Lee does brilliantly to get back after Lees' error and gets in a great tackle, only for the ball to squirm straight to Lawrence. And for goal 3 it looked as if Borner could have won that 'pass' from Harris if he'd have gone forward hard and not decided to go backwards and let their kid have it. Just saying.

Those two mistakes epitomise what was wrong in the first half. No one had desire to have the ball, no one runs to space to receive it, no one busts a gut to get on end of it.

Look at Windass second half, he was everywhere in search of the ball. Too many of our ‘stars’ are hiding at the moment.

Considering how Bannan always wants the ball it’s noticeable that he’s nowhere near the centre of park where both these passes are played into. Just look at his arm waving and reaction times for first one.

Dawson should have done better with goal #2

Börner has zero chance with the Harris pass. It was also an unbelievable finish after a poor first touch.

What the chuff Bannan is supposed to have to do with any blame is anyone’s guess

You’re right about Bannan, can’t expect him to track the run of goal three. It’s only like the guy standing next to him points where he wants it and runs past him into an empty box. I think Bannan should have stood and watched it too, he’s not there to track runs or tackle.

Weird watching the clips how all the other players busting a gut to get back. The second goal / first clip you get to watch their player and the ref sprint to get forward, not our Barry though.

Too good to be there mucking in with the others.

I originally thought the same about that goal, but when you see the replay from the opposite angle, it shows that Lee didn't touch the ball and it was the Derby player who passed it into Lawrence's path.

Apparently, he's supposed to be standing where the pass goes, even if it isn't near him. and then catch their forward even though he's twenty yards nearer the goal.  bannanas

Maybe that because we played with 2 in midfield. First goal he was marking their left back on the wing. Not very well I agree.

Other goals he was out numbered and they just passed round him.

Lees should have passed it first time to Palmer. Have no idea what he was trying to do. Was just a bad pass from Harris for the 2nd. Still a lot of work to after that pass, no-one really busted a gut to get back though.

Apparently Lees blamed Lee for the second goal for passing to him.

To be fair, Lee should know better.

If he hasn't worked out by now, that an accident waiting to happen is Tom Lees with the ball at his feet, then he's never going to!
