Where did our injury list go?

The long term injury problems suffered by the likes of Lee, Lees, Hooper, Bannan, Hutchinson, Westwood and Forestieri all started under Carlos.

TBF Hutchinson's injuries started in 2010 when he had to retire because of them, since then he has managed them off and on.

Remember when our side was Reach and ten second-choice players?

We had a top six side, but barring Reach they were all out injured.

With Lees and Forestieri back we now have every first teamer and likely sub fit and available. It is a fantastic place to be.

Even with a suspension or injury or two we are in great shape. Lees has hardly been missed, with Borner and Iorfa gelling brilliantly. Borner will miss a game very soon when he gets a yellow, and we have the luxury of a Lees-Iorfa pairing as “cover”. Hutch sat out and Luongo came in, played well and scored the winner. Lee can’t even get into the side.

If Harris or Reach struggle wide we have Murphy and Forestieri. Many posters would have Forestieri as a first choice anyway.

At full-back we have 4 for two places.

It is probably only at striker where we have an issue. No problem with the quantity of options, but an issue with its quality. Especially if we stick with 433, which only suits Fletcher. (though Monk has showed he is not a slave to a formation so if Fletch is out for a while we might well see 442 which probably suits the other strikers more).

Huge respect to our medical/physio team. It can’t be a coincidence what happened between 2015 and 2018, but touch-wood it’s all history, leaving us with a healthier squad and pretty well-balanced squad.

I was told that the injury list had been scrapped in the interests of positivity!

(Funnily enough Ian/Owlstalk the word positivity is coming up as an unknown word/spelling mistake, while the word negativity is absolutely fine! Sort it out please )

Did we get a proper manager in that knew what he was doing and bought the right people in to make sure we had the best chance of keeping players fit.

Nah, Carlos tried that.

Scrapping the injured list is far better, because then everybody is classed as fit to play, unless, like Hutch and Fessi they are ineligible after being naughty boys.

yes amazing when you have the right people in your club, training properly ,not coming back too soon ,and a professional in tony strudwick to oversea players are in the best shape. gone are the wasters and money grabbers picking up 20-30-40k a week for doing nothing. at times we had 15-20 million of our playing staff in wages injured and unavailable . a club of our size cant withstand such a pathetic waste of money , if it were not for selling the  ground back to our selves we would have faced the highest penalty of points  deduction along with been banned from signings and having to sell anyone with a money value ,this has all been averted by chansiri been clever , I wish he never fetched carlos the clown in the 1st place and im sure someone like bruce/monk would have got us up with the money for wages/transfers like carlos had.

I’d definitely put it down to Carlos

A few bits and pieces have publicly come out since he left. Tom Lees and Sam Hutchinson have both said that players were put straight back in the side after injury lay offs

Our previous physio Paul Smith’s relationship with CC was strained and he put some interesting comments on twitter after he left the club

Also there were rumours that players were turning up for training as and when they wanted towards the end of his reign. All sounds very unprofessional

Handsworth breaking out a bit of plain talking sense..

Carlos was s*it or bust..Garry Monk hasn't got a history with any one club he's been involved with, but he certainly has a mind to the future when talking about bringing youngsters through..and their welfare..

There's good things going on at the club and I hope there's the patience for it to develop..

So clueless that with a crippling injury list, he took us to our best two seasons in twenty years.

Give your head a shake.

Don’t take this the wrong way or offensively  but are you seriously that blind ? His  shocking man management tied in with awful recruitment (after chucking millions at it ) is the main reason why we are where we are. Flogging players to death, signing past it crocks and deadwood as proved by Norwich and the pigs to not be the way forward . Two top six play off failures is not success . It’s amazes me people have views that naive

Amazing that people still have that view isn’t it. Carlos the great because he got us in the play offs  Those players (FF, Hooper, Bannan etc) were arguably st their peak a few years ago, Irvine could have got that squad in the play offs. It’s almost criminal we didn’t end up going up
