swfc-dan
Always been a fan of him. We should be playing 2 strikers up front so that he can be more of a regular option and yet still not relied so much on for goals (which we know he is erratic). We'll never get anything out of Rhodes playing as a lone frontman either. 2 strikers is the way to go, just like Bruce saw last season.

That's because Plan B is far better than Plan A. Always has been for three seasons. We should be hammering teams with crosses in the first twenty minutes with two strikers up front, especially with our squad. Nuhiu and Fletcher should start the next game. Take a striker off when we've got the lead and make them chase the ball / game then, not from the start.

Its just a general idea but my main point is put Reach as a winger and play 4-4-2 with 2 main strikers. Bully is totally against doing this it seems and if he sticks to 4-3-3 he can kiss goodbye a chance at the job full time. Other teams can hack it playing 4-3-3 but we have never been effective in my memory supporting swfc. We never get enough support into the box so lone frontman is constantly isolated. Never works. And having our striker options and Rhodes who cant play a lone role to save his life makes it even more obvious.

Buxtongent
Nuhiu can certainly hold , and distribute the ball, and tie up several defenders. The idea that Nuhiu cannot head the ball is, however, constantly thrown at him. This is a falsification. Anyone watching him closely will note a couple of things.Yes,he doesn't seem to jump any height for a ball, but then, at 6ft7in , he doesn't need to.. The other is the number of times he simply flicks the ball on, usually in the direction of one of his own players, mwho seldom seem to take advantage

Nuhiu is a master of it. In that system i think Nuhiu is a better option than Fletch. They could put four defenders on him today and he'd still walk away with the ball. Them that slag him off always seem to forget this about Nuhiu. He is great in these tight physical away games. It was only when he came of that other players were released and got to play their game. Bannan and Reach for example. Before that Bannan looked like an under 11s player. Nuhiu should have come on sooner or started.. I've just mentioned in another thread that PNE fans groaned when he came on, and some asked me (as I was sat with them) why he didn't start. They were pleased he didn't. I don't know what Nuhiu's position is. He's not a out-and-out forward, but then who is these days. Is he an Inside Forward, an Advanced Playmaker or maybe a Deep Lying Forward or a False 9? Whatever he "is", he is not a player who is going to bag you 20-25 goals per season, at this level, but I would love to see some stats on how many goals are scored when he is on the pitch compared to when he is not. What he is a is a complete and utter pain in the ar$e for opposition defenders, because he can play on the deck better then he can in the air, and players don't know how to handle him. I think our fans berate him because he is a "forward and forwards score goals. End of Fred!", but in modern football, the role of a forward lying player can be more complex than that. His vision is excellent and his passing normally very accurate, albeit short at times. But that's what he does best, attracting multiple players, which creates space and a little 5 meter sideways pass can suddenly have us attacking with grass in front of us. I like him and I always have because I saw early on what he was about. Prolific: nah, not a chance, but a guy who could come on and change a game? Most definately, but not single-handedly. PortlandOwl
Nuhiu was great but how many matches have we seen, for years now, where we're relying on him to get us out of the brown stuff. Our football doesn't seem to evolve.
