Totally unacceptable in itself made worse by the lack of appreciation of the fans at the end of the match. I doubt we would have performed like that had bruce been in charge, tells me that the momentum has reduced, need a new manager asap.

Nixon has indicated it is a domestic list in his reports (and with our manager he has been on money last 3 times). The list has certain look of being about right. Megson links to club, Coleman was Sunderland manager and all things Sunderland are often linked to club, Stendel I think agents in a round about way were connected to some involved in our club, Others are I suppose on every short list in Championship. Betting activity around them has shown nibbles which suggests they were spoken to. Pulis connection just bits and pieces read in news reports so less certain about that. It could have moved on but think that was how it was. If we need to make impact this season need to continue building in same method any move to radically different approach could not be done before season starts and effectively writes the season off so in some ways can see why approach adopted. Think Stendel gets in because uses high pressing high energy style we were (hopefully are) going to use this season. Therefore is you use common sense some of more exotic names who adopt different approach are non starter if you want fighting chance this year. Personally thought at last we were going right way all teams who went up last year used high energy approach and adopted forms of high pressing tactics. Think its way to go. Guesswork - and unconvincingly reasoned guesswork at that. And the old 'I know someone who...' line to lend weight to what is merely your opinion. Stop trying to pretend you're in the know; it's not even remotely believable.

Yeah they are called friendlies because there exactly that, used to try different formations, checking players out in different positions, getting players back to speed, working out plays tested on the training pitch etc. First five or six games of the season are a better indicator. You could class every poster on OT as a sports journalist, we report on games, make suggestions, speculate, interviews friends and colleagues for their opinions. Professional journalists just have more access that's all.

OK' it maybe isn't that clear tbh. it's an appalling list of options on offer, the outstanding man for the job doesn't want it, the rest are meh! we've a side that was built for 'tiptap', bruce was altering that, but those alterations are far, far from complete. a pulis/megson type appointment would (I imagine) have to deeply alter the squad at a cost of time and yet more money. there are dreamers on here and (no doubt) throughout our fanbase talking of avb being appointed . undoubtedly dc has to take into the equation something football fans hardly ever do, and that is the financial aspect of it all. he has bought the club, bought players and paid staff, it's all cost money, he will have a limit, he has to do the best for himself, the club, and IF POSSIBLE the fans within that limit. IF dc has to give it a real go this term, (and for me he has no option) he has to act quickly and decisively now, to appoint a manager (to bring in 'a player or two') before the window closes, or we'd need one hell of a run in to make lost ground up as last season was. bruce hasn't half kicked our club in the n*ts going at the time he did, late in, very early out, what a tw*t. Have you spent time at the club shadowing him? Players seem to respect him explayer Reda Johnson was backing him as manager on Twitter. Just curious how you know what he does or doesn't do.

Can anyone in the local media ask Lee Bullen why he didn't command the players to show a little respect? Looks like another afternoon in Hamburg on Sunday. If they think we're travelling to Kiel they're wrong. Neg away but I'm right! Was losing and conceding 4 goals to Scunthorpe in 2015 more acceptable because it was closer to home? Sadly I have no record of whether the players applauded the fans en masse after that defeat but they did go on to reach the play-off final that season. Some people really do read too much into pre-season games.
briggowl
Bullen is not the leader, he has twice said he isn't a manger and doesn't want to be (both times he's been left in charge). In a Championship where the little things will make the difference, literally between top and mid table obscurity we are certainly heading for the latter. Morale and confidence in the manager are key to a top season. We are running out of time, Bullen is a self confessed coach and not interested in management the players know it and won't be motivated by that. I'm fearing another wasted season ahead. Come on DC!!!!!!!
