S72 Owl
Like a few have said. I’d have the midfield 3 playing as a 3 rather than a 2 and 1 behind the forward. Id play Joao up top just for this one game. Villas 2 centre backs aren’t the quickest, let’s give them something to worry about with joaos pace. Surely you would play Matias aswell if that's the case as we have no one better at running in behind.

No I’d bring Matias on a bit later to give them something else to think about.

Earlsfieldowl
People naming Westwood clearly havent listened to what JL has said. ..he won’t feature again under under this current setup. In terms of the game - have a bad feeling about it and we’re in for a tonking imo. ..can we play 6 at the back? A clean sheet would be nice but seems an impossible dream at the moment. Ronio
Dawson Hector Lees Thorniley Palmer Penney Pelupessy Onomah Bazza Fletcher Joao Think we will see a change in formation. Back to 352/532. If Thorniley is struggling then Pudil may come in. Hector full debut. Palmer back in place of Baker. If Penney is not ready possibly Fox. I put Onomah in, but Reach may play there also. Fletch and Joao up top.

Wide left is where he is most comfortable. Think he would do well with Penney behind behind him in a 442. I also find Bazza and Reach link up well when he is on the left

Guest Kagoshimaowl
Dawson Palmer Hector Lees Pudil Penney Pelupessy Bannan Onomah Joao Fletcher Subs: Wildsmith, Baker, Fox, Boyd, Reach, Matias, Nuhiu We will get battered 0-3 but I’ll be supporting from afar as always

Hope Jos doesn’t have a “ pick and mix” day like he is sometimes liable to do Obvs! Would actually like to see flexible 4 4 2. Onamah right, Reach left, BB and Peshy in the middle. Should be able to get early ball in from flanks and offer full backs protection and Penney license to get forrad. Hope Fletcher comes with flathead rather than spoonhead where he shanks headers wide or over the bar...
trumbullowl
I don't think Onomah will start, because of the way he gave the free kick away against Forest. Really poor judgement.

oldishowl
So some have now decided Onomah is a winger and we should shoe horn him on the right wing to go back to a Carlos style 442 The problems on Wednesday will not be solved by going 442 or any other formation , it was to do with playing players out of position , playing too deep and playing with a tempo so slow I wish I could get it into my golf swing. Lord Snooty
Two ways to go at this IMO DAWSON PALMER LEES HECTOR PENNEY PELUPESSY ONOMAH BANNAN JOAO FLETCHER REACH or DAWSON PALMER LEES HECTOR PENNEY PELUPESSY BANNAN MATIAS JOAO REACH FLETCHER
York_Owl
A front three of Reach Joao Matias would give us a nice balance as well as plenty of pace, energy and mobility. The downside would be not starting Fletcher who scored the other night.
