He's the "best manager we've had for years" and yet he only finished "par" like the previous managers we had, without his budget, also finished "par".

Great argument there.

Are you stupid?

He finished in a higher position so yeah, best manager we've had for years.

Nothing wrong with being arrogant if your results back it up, Shankly, Clough , Ferguson , Atkinson, Mourinho  etc  hardly modest about their ability.

Its all bluster, but still he was the best manager we have had in many years as his record testifies.

Sadly it did not work out but good luck to the guy, no hard feelings, I m sure he will do well at Swansea.

I can see argument about he is best manager as we finished higher in the league then previous recent managers.

But if you take everything into consideration with the resources at his disposal think he did Par overall.

I honestly think if he'd put winall on when Fletcher came off against Huddersfield we'd be in the premier league now. 100% his decision he was way too negative over 2 legs and it cost us but ultimately he's profited from it.

It's a big fizz off from me Carlos.

I think you need to look around at the championship clubs who have spent far more than us and success has eluded them.

Money alone is no guarantee of success.

I've looked...and they all had under-performing managers.

PS I get the impression Clueless is adopting the Warnock approach to a wind-up, trouble is he hasn't got the record to back it up. Unless Colin.

I really can't tell if you're joking or not, you just said yourself he performed at a "par" level and the "par" level was higher because he had more money...

Jose Mourinho likes to fight with people, says Carlos Carvalhal

Swansea's Carlos Carvalhal says Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho thrives "when he is fighting" with people.

The pair will meet next Saturday when Swansea travel to Old Trafford in hunt of crucial points in their battle for Premier League survival.

Carvalhal, who spent time learning under Mourinho while at Chelsea, admits he shares similarities with his counterpart but says the former Inter Milan and Real Madrid boss has a more confrontational approach to management.

"I like Mourinho and he knows that I like him. I studied him. I spent a week at Manchester United when Alex Ferguson was there, then a week watching Mourinho at Chelsea. I also went to Real Madrid.

"I tried to learn with the best. He has a big self-confidence, like I do. You need that. But he is a completely different personality to me. He likes confrontation. He likes to fight with people. And he's very good when he is fighting.

"I am completely different. I like to keep far away from the fight. I like to win, but, if someone tries to fight with me, they will find they are fighting with themselves.

"If a club sacks me one day, the next morning, I feel sorry for them because they have lost a good manager.

"My background is strong, in knowledge - in both theory and practice. I know I have experience and I'm completely ready for everything."

Swansea are three points clear of the relegation zone with eight games remaining, while second-placed United are 16 points adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City, and are 9 points ahead of Chelsea in fifth.

"Wednesday, meanwhile, haven’t really made any progress under new boss Jos Luhukay and some fans may start to wonder whether dismissing Carvalhal really was the correct decision considering the circumstances." - are they, are they really? Its only the ones who didnt want him to go that would have him back, or thats the impression I have - given that he royally fizzed up all our key players.
