We gamble on rubbish but wont take a gamble on a young player who could be a very good player.

As I said it is a gamble, and could turn out to be a waste of money, but no bigger waste the the ones quoted above and others

If any senior player went on strike, refused to sign a new improved contract, and wanted 4x more money than others his 'pay grade', you would berate him. You'd want him out.

I was also there. He came on in the 92nd min.  I think your assessment is slightly exaggerated.

He got half an hour and was genuinely out of his depth.

Which is fine because he was only 17.

"Went on strike", "wanted 4x more money"??

Is there anything else you would like to make up?

Those criticising Carlos for not playing him are not really being appreciative of the reality of modern football.

The managers remit is promotion and he, like most of his peers, is going to place his faith in the finished article, as opposed to a young prospect.

Furthermore, Carlos has had the fortune of being able to bring in a Hooper, FF, Fletcher, Rhodes etc.,and the vast, vast majority of managers would do the same.

It is not defending it per se, but more an indictment of how modern English football works, particularly at the higher levels.

You only have to look look at the farce of Chelsea having of 30+ players out on loan because there’s little to no opportunity of them getting in the first team.

I would have tried to negotiate with him before it got to that stage.

I agree his behaviour has not been as it should, but the problem could have been resolved before it got to that stage

pay grades depend on ability, what other players do we have with his potential

Is this an opinion or something you've been told.

Is GH not an employee of the club, I'm pretty sure the club were doing what they thought was best for the lad

Who was doing the talking?

No player is bigger than the club

but he is serving a footballing apprenticeship with the club and as such they provide his training which includes where said training is carried out

Chelsea have made mistakes but they have a model where they are getting loan fees and transfer fees for their players.

Our academy has never produced a Premier League footballer. We now have one youngster attracting bids from a Premier League team and are not letting him play or even train with his peers?

Which is more farcial?

You seem quite selective in which ‘well known fans’ you choose to believe.

What are the criteria?

Read through the posts on here. Many posters have simply made things up that they have no way of backing up. The two other posters are huge Wednesday fans who have left this site on principle. Are you calling them liars?

We really don’t know the full story here, but I can only see 2 scenarios

1. He has had his head turned by the riches of the premier league and wants out, but the club won’t be held to ransom

2. He is desperate for a shot at the first team but CC won’t pick him so he won’t sign a contract

Either way it’s a real shame that he’s now certain to be off next year

Well if he does go to a prem team he got less chance of a start in 1st team

But he's leaving and is leaving for a Premier League club.
