If you were DC would you stick or twist ?

Recommended Posts

It's Ok us fans saying sack Carlos. But what would you do if you if you were DC

You buy a football club not because you are a fan, for other reasons.

You make an investment of 50 Million and within 12 months you are 1 game of getting into the premiership and all of the riches that come with this. Potentially increasing your initial investment at least 10 fold.

So you have complete faith in Carlos and invest another wedge over the next 12 months and again you are within touching distance of the Holy Grail.

You still have faith in this man, he's nearly done it twice surely with some more investment we will make it the next season. So you invest even more money.

As we stand at the moment, you realise things are not going to plan, You have a decision,  do you stick with Carlos, knowing he has turned it round before, he knows the players he has been the nearly man twice before. Or do you twist and risk it.

Tough call for DC to make.

I suppose it depends how much more money is is willing and able ro put in. Any new man brought in will want to bring in some new blood and with a lot of out squad on long term contracts that would put us even closer to FFP. Chansiri might also now realise that patience is more important than a revolving managerial door. Who knows?

Carlos is a diamond geezer. His heart is in the right place and he wants to stay at the club. He’s done the spade work and deserves to stay and finish off the job.

It’s alright for you jokers to slate him, but let Mr C deal with it. He’ll sort the situation out when it suits him.

Cards on the table now, I see no point in simply shuffling the pack. King Carlos is ace.

It's not a tough call at all:

Why on earth would you sack the manager that has led the team to successive promotion campaigns because you're mid table 12 games in, and 4 points off of a playoff spot?

The notion of sacking him at all is ridiculous, and for all the nonsense spouted on here, I doubt that it's even been mentioned at the management level, much less seriously considered.

Only a tough call if he hasn't been watching all season.

It’s a tough call now, there is a chance of change if things go downhill from here. But, a more likely scenario is that the team and CC continue to be hit and miss, not really in contention but not out if it either. This will continue to the end of the season.

Baring a very unlikely promotion CC was always going to off at the end of this season.

We can talk for hours about possible replacements but it will make little difference to us unless -

1. The replacement is in control of transfers.

2. We complete transfers in a timely mannet.

The cost of twisting is mega a complete new back room staff either paid up or on gardening leave. Football inflation in the last 30 months means that new contracts will be much more expensive than the ones left behind. The new management team would not only be singularly more expensive but the new methods would demand several new faces with more money needed to be thrown at it. Then would come the demand for time. Three years could mean being in exactly the same situation we are in now.

Sticking we all know Carlos and despite many of your gripes and arguments, some valid, some not. We have seen what he is capable of producing. Though what has come through in the first 10 or so matches of the season this has not been to the liking of many of you and me also. Our start to the season has been wracked by inconsistency. In fact the only consistency we have witnessed has been the holes left in our side by the absence of Hutchinson, Loovens and Forrestieri. Hopefully a few results will be achieved before all are available. The costing of the two options in financial terms hardly need weighing in terms of time, which no one seems in favour of offering Carlos, I feel certain that Carlos would be by far the better option.

I would add that the most foolish thing ever was for Carlos and DC was the early promise of promotion by the end of this season, which seems distinctly more a possibility than a probability. However, patience has to be a key factor slating Carlos after a poor performance or result can not become the norm. Carlos says he is not concerned with this but it certainly gets through to the changing room and confidence suffers. Criticise by all means but the vitriol is uncalled for and undeserved.

I'd just employ someone who knows how to run a football club! Everyone who knew how the club and infrastructure ran has gone or been sacked...the running of the club from top to bottom is now a complete shambles...money won't buy us success but a bit of common sense will help a lot! Fans dismay carries to the players and it's just knock on effect unfortunately!
