Wildsmith

Recommended Posts

Yep. I've been highly critical that we haven't got more experienced keepers in to push Westwood for his place, but Wildsmith's done nothing wrong these last two games.

I'm still not sure whether Wildsmith, Dawson, and Kean can be considered to be pushing Westwood for his place (which really ought to be the case), but I feel less nervy about Wildsmith after today. Looked very assured.

couple of vital saves as well.

Like today, he also made an excellent save against Birmingham which was adjudged to be offside - in a way it's a shame for him not to get the 'full credit' for those saves!

Played well. Needs to get off his line quicker. Looks the part to me.

I must admit to feeling a little uncomfortable with him previously but he really looked good today. He just gets a little close to the edge of the box at times though for my liking, needs to give himself a bit more room before he starts giving free kicks away.
