With the resources he's been given?  Sorry.  Unimpressed with all that now.

We've clearly backpeddalled from that first season, in form and tactics.

but not points. which are what wins prizes. your argument is as clear as mud

No I'm not I'm saying that to turn on Carlos over this is pretty pathetic In My Opinion.

Fair enough...

I was in the Carlos out camp before tonight...

And whatever happened tonight I still think the only way forward is with someone else in charge...

I'd love him to prove me wrong but he's had more than enough time to do it

When are some of you going to face facts

We're going nowhere with this clown in charge

What sort of person are you? Calling our manager a clown? Why? He doesn't deserve that.

I think I can safely say I'd worked out what camp you are in and I accept its your view.

But to make one last point what's happened tonight given the team selection should not mean a fraction of the bile that's been aimed at our manager is fair. Every striker we've got apart from the two who'll start on Saturday have had a chance we've missed a hatful of chances (according to ifollow) and that's not the managers fault .....or is it ffs. No it's not.

Some minimum wage jobsworth tries to manhandle you, how exactly do you manage that situation and look good?

You can't.   The only person who can win in that situation is the jobsworth, who has just lost his job but made you look a donut for no fault of your own.

"Some minimum wage  jobsworth", "You flipping elitist wannabee", idiot.

The magical (?) mystery tour goes on to Burton!  Still not seen anything to suggest any wrongdoing by Carlos, but if he has then he's going to cop it.  The performance sounded bobbar till 20 minutes from the end.  We're becoming a second half team, it was like that v QPR and to be honest by the sounds of it it was just the last 20 minutes tonight.  Assuming nothing miraculous happens, we need to regroup, sort the side out sensibly and go again.  Its one game, but although only a few games in, if we continue as we did for the first 70 minutes into oncoming games, his days are numbered.  As for the players, they need to collectively and individually recognise fault and take blame for it.  We have some players who have (only in my limited view) been great and others who need to pull the finger out.  We definitely need more bodies in and to do that need to offload a few, we shall see what transpires.

4th was absolute fools gold, what with everyone else resting vital players (ie Huddersfield) with playoffs assured.

Give over. You're actually picking faults in us finishing 4th in a super competitive league?

Insane. Blows your argument to

smithereens.

So who's fault is it then?

Can't get the best out of Rhodes and not playing to his strengths?

Completely leaving Winnall out of the squad after he's played well and scored?

Playing people that need dropping but keep playing week in week out?

No cover at full back?

Spunking money on players that don't play?

The list goes on...

So if it's not down to Carlos that who's to blame???

No you said it was our best 2 league positions in 20 years, so you are comparing the last 2 season with the previous 18 and I'm just raising the fact that in those 2 seasons Carlos has had more money to spend the every manager before him put together since our relegation from the Premier League.

Hardly a fair comparison.

For somebody who seems to (rightly) look at the bigger picture, I'm surprised you don't appear to have considered how many of the signings were Carlos', and how much say he gets on who we bring in.

Not accusing you of doing it, but a lot of people play Football Manager and FIFA and then decide that's how real life football works, i.e. all signings are down to the manager and he negotiates with agents... It really doesn't work like that. How many managers do you think get their first choice signings for example? Say we wanted to sign 4 left wingers last summer, we desperately needed one and we worked through a list and got to Reach, we had the money so we just paid what Boro wanted. Is it right to blame Carlos on this (regardless on how you think Reach has done) and say look how much he's spent?

We overachieved in our first season, and last season we finished about where we should have. Newcastle and Brighton were always better than us, and even though we beat Newcastle, they were always going to win that league. Villa, Norwich and Derby should have been there on paper, but it was Reading, Huddersfield and Fulham instead. So now look at what we have, a squad that finished where a lot of us expected last year, and to strengthen we've added George Boyd and a defender on loan that none of us know about. We're competing with teams who've just come down from the Premier League, Villa, Wolves, Derby, and whoever else who are improving and adding a lot of quality. At the end of the day, we don't have a top 2 squad, and there's nothing to suggest we're going to add to it to improve it.

To put it short.. You're as good as your best players, we are a Championship 3rd-6th squad and that's where we will finish. Just because you spend money it doesn't mean you will or should do well. It means little, it's down to the players on the day and what they can do. Who is to blame tonight for the missed chances? A manager's influence is overstated. Obviously its very important, but its overstated by some. I welcome anybody on here who has played football at a decent level to tell me if it was down to them or their manager when they misplaced a pass or didn't hit a shot on goal.

What happened tonight ? Winnall started went off after we were three  nil down..Rhodes scored two...apart from the facts you've nearly got an understanding of football..keep up the good work lol
