Mr. Tom
Abdi looked very good on the ball, his passing was crisp and logical which we really struggled with first half - so many wasted possessions by our team it was unreal. Made Abdi look like the only chicken with a head. Palmer had a shocker in that regard, as did BB and several others.

OwlofOliveGrove
Have to admit, after getting wound up and petitioning for him to start...he had a poor one today. Let's face it though,he certainly wasn't the only one. Nor was he the worst.
steelcityowlsfan
I thought he was ok but we missed that bit more energy in midfield that Bannan gives. Dont like seeing Reach at LB and feel it's stunting his development. Reach and McManaman should start on the wings at Leeds and let's try and get some balls into the box for Rhodes. Guest The Horse
Strange how we all see different things. Thought having Abdi in there tonight was like having a Premier League player in. Made time for himself and always looked to play the positive pass. As someone above said, he just needed better (intelligent?) movement from his team mates. SiJ
He was decent. Not spectacular, but certainly not a bad performance. Is he carrying a few knocks? Two, three times he was grabbing his knee, shoulder etc., Edited February 21, 2017 by SiJ

LiamK2292
He tried but not helped when you've got Bannan out wide.

He was poor tonight and no metter how many people on here bang on about him, he isnt good enough or fit enough. Thats why hes not in the team, fair enough he scored a great goal against forest but can anybody really say hes ever played really well for us in any game this season? CrosbyKitchens
Carlos' persistence in wedging Bannan into whatever team he picks will be his downfall. At home, I'd have Forestieri left McMannaman Right Abdi in the middle and two proper centre forwards. Attack from the beginning for once.

As is the norm with the Pozzos at Watford, brought in a bevy of new players to go with their customary yearly new coach. Mazzari didn't rate. Here AA comes. If you're going to slate, at least provide factual analyses. Not alternative facts. Edited February 22, 2017 by Socialist_Owl

This is nearly accurate - it's not that Mazzari didn't rate Abdi - but he was the manager they had long been set on getting - and one of the terms of him going to Watford was that they would go and sign Roberto Pereyra He would have been the preferred option for the attacking CM role - therefore Abdi was allowedto leave in the event suitable bids came in Bearing in mind his premier league colleagues last season called him The Professor - maybe they should have taken their opinion from here - rather than actually train and play with him? Guest RocketOwl
Frustrating when he got injured we had Wallace and Winnall in centre midfield when Lewis Mcgugan is at home picking his nose.
Owl 44
I also thought he played quite well. Was surprised when they took him off. When I saw Macca getting ready I presumed Wallace was going off. Was holding his shoulder prior to that though - similar to Rotherham - so maybe a recurrence of that injury. Twaddle
87% pass success rate for the game tonight according to who scored. Hope he is fit for Saturday
sagesse
Bannan was really poor tonight, but I thought that we lacked any semblance of bite in midfield, and certainly looked slow when we didn't have the ball. I would have expected us to pass it around the opposition, as Brentford did to us first half...
