From what Ive seen Floro still has potential to make the first team, a loan even in league 2 would help. The ships sailed with Corry and McCabe unfortunately. scram Posted September 28, 2014 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Confidence boost and maybe a bit of prize money I'm guessing.Thinking about it, winning the league could be very important as getting the academy upgraded to category A would be great for the future of the club, saves you from getting the more promising youngsters stolen by PL sides all the time. Winning the u 21 league doesn't mean a thing regarding attaining category one status. Nothing at all Being Cat One is all about staffing, facilities, expenditure, structure etc etc And being Cat One does not stop other academies taking your players - it's designed for the powerful clubs to take whoever they want Which they do... Sometimes we've fielded a very young side, away at Ipswich for example. Top of the league? torryowl Posted September 29, 2014 Share Posted September 29, 2014 winning the league or finishing bottom doesnt mean a thing at that level .if we can get 1 or 2 players to come thru and make it to the 1st team then then the season will have been a success no matter where we finish ..............as for mccabe and corry playing if they dont play for the dev squad then they arnt going to play at all.its easy to say send them out on loan to a league 1 club but if they have gone 3 -6 months without a game of any sort it would be a pretty desperate club who would want to sign .you have to put them in the shop window and the dev games is there only chance to shine .
