jamsandwich
Why did he have to go down though!?. He was on his way past Barton and could easily have done something with the ball. It's the modern football curse.

Wath-owl
We'd have missed the flippingpenalty anyway!
GY-owl.4
the stills are not doing Maghoma justice......honestly a stonewall prem, Grandad's got it right, 3 or 4 posts up, dont think Antonio's (first one)was a pen mind.
Professor Erno
If a manager moans about the ref's at every available opportunity, it's not going to endear his team to them. We should have had 2 pens today, but I hope DJ backs off the refs a bit this season.
Roscoe P. Coltrane
It was about 15 yards in front of me flippingstonewall pen. That ref

snaykz
Blatant foul, and Barton knew it. The manner in which Maghoma goes to the ground after the foul doesn't alter the fact. Had it been outside the box the ref would have given a free kick without hesitation.
Leaping Lannys Perm
Yep, but look at all the other players blocking the referees view.Trust me, he was so short a blade of grass could have blocked his way.

DJMortimer
In fairness both his feet are already in the air. He has not made contact yet. Do you run with at least one foot on the ground at all times? I know what you're getting at, and Maghoma clearly exaggerated the fall, but it was still a pretty clear penalty. adamb1253
FWIW, I thought it was a pen. However, the stills in this thread don't back that up, as they show NO contact, but Maghoma on his way down. They're inconclusive
scram
Whether it was a penalty or not one thing is clear - that picture tells absolutely nothing
