I was waiting for a reyt meaty story

Palmer is just a really decent bloke.

To be fair they all were. Signed kids shirts and had photos with them. Nice to see.

Then he asked him if Carlton Palmer was his dad.

And Liam said to the Blackburn fan

”how would I know if Carlton Palmer is your dad, ya weirdo”

Then Liam got on the bus and rodded him through the window

A true meaty story

Meanwhile, over in Manchester...

"Cole! Hey Cole! can I have an autograph?"

"Yeah of course..."

"Is Carlton Palmer your dad?"

"Ha ha! If I had a penny for Everytime I heard that!"

Carlton isn’t old enough to be Andy Cole’s dad

As I left the ground the bus was picking up the players.

There was one Blackburn fan who asked each player for a signature, said well played and wished them a safe journey home. A lovely polite bloke and I am guessing supporting football is a big part of his life.

Liam came out and started signing autographs. The bloke thanked him, said he had played well and wished him a safe journey home.

Then he asked him if Carlton Palmer was his dad.

Liam started laughing and said, “If I had a pound for every time I had been asked that”

It was a nice interaction from Palmer and the bloke was really cheered by the interaction.

What I take from this little episode the fact that he didn't take the opportunity to deny it 🤔

Good to hear, nicer side of football.
