Windass one piece of class. Marv improved after 5 poor games. Iorfa seemed to calm us when he came on to play centre half. + Relieved when Pato came on big time. You just know he will get stuck in and be a nuisance. Second half so much better. We got some luck for a change re the 3rd goal. Phew! good summary

They were clean through again when we were winning but ruled offside, famewo may have/nearly played him on but got lucky, then ss got in behind again but missed, so they got in behind 2-3 times for 1v1s. Need to learn to drop a few yards, be solid and counter away/when winning with our pace uptop, and not conceed silly goals like today/stoke game having just scored, but overall a well deserved courageous win, its on some really good points here...it was worrying how they could go over and cut through us. Very spirited second half but the gods shone on us.

prowl
Vaulks for me, when he's on it like that he's fantastic. Marv was a close second, not for the goal although that was well taken but for the work he did defensively. Probably his best ever defensive performance.

But Pol held our right flank for the entire game. Famewo was good for the 90 too. All about opinions and that's why I enjoy the forum.

Emerson Thome
Beadle: 6 - I wonder if he should have held back a bit for the goal? Palmer: 8 - Always feel he's excellent in that RCB role. Ihiekwe: 6 - Was just getting started. Did kick the ball in Szmodics face, although not quite hard enough. Famewo: 5 - The one down spot, I thought he was poor again, especially on the ball. Valentín: 6 - Some good runs, not a lot of end product. Johnson: 9 - MoM. Great run and cool finish (for another vital goal). Some brilliant defending. Vaulks: 8 - Great tackle. Very strong second half. Wish he would stop booting it back to the keeper though. Bannan: 7 - Ticked over. Windass: 8 - Goal of the season winner I suspect. Musaba: 8 - After a run of poor games, he did better today. He seems good for an unintentional assist, picking up two more of them today. Ugbo: 6 - Quietish. Bambo Diaby: 7 - Excellent cameo. Seems better when he doesn't have to think about it. Iorfa: 7 - CB No. 3 - helped see out the game. Paterson: 6 - Barrelled about Gassama: 7 - Looked threatening Smith: 7 - Nice.
WatfordOwl
That away kit brings back some memories of great victories in years gone by. Did what we had to do today, could have gone under after the equaliser coming so quickly, but thought we showed a bit more nous in our performance today and that has to be credit to the lads/Röhl. Fantastic win, keeps it in our hands and hopefully the psychological boost of escaping the bottom 3 (finally) will keep the momentum going. Still think we need at least 4 points to be in with a shout, not easy but gettable. Vaulks MOM for me, Johnson not far behind. Sensible Soccer
The turning point was the double tackle by vaulks that started the move for the goal. He did the ugly stuff today and if he hadn’t of put his body on the line when he did I doubt we would have got more than a point. want to give musaba a shout out. Has more goal contributions than any other player in the squad, another assist today. Runs well with the ball, sometimes does some silly stuff but he is a genuine threat. swfc-dan
The old Johnson we know returned today. Good to see him back,my MOTM and great effort to get on the end of the cross. Vaulks was rock solid in the middle too, great tackle for the goal.

Thought Vaulks struggled first half but was sensational in the 2nd. Not convinced again by Famewo, surprised he’s had so much game time this season. I'm not a Famewo fan either, he's very poor on the ball. But he's the only left sided CB we have so a must start if playing in a back 3.
