nevthelodgemoorowl
There were some solid performances in the 7.5 to 8.5 range across the board but the icing on the cake for me was the acceleration, sprinter class, by Johnson in out gunning his marker to tuck away the goal. MOTM from Johnson a 9 for that and Bums Off Seats for the audacious Windass Opener.
The Dukeries Owl
Vaulks for playing like 2 men and that fearless tackle, that could have ended up as a broken leg. Johnson for being Johnnie on the spot in both boxes at the right time. Windass: absolutely everything had to be right for that goal, no margin for even the slightest error for an instinctive hit that just went in under the crossbar. You can't teach that level of skill, you either can or you can't. Went for Windass as his goal instilled the belief that everything and anything was possible in this game. The Dukeries Owl
I was just remembering the "should we start with either of Windass or Johnson" thread. I was very definite in my thoughts: Leave it to Danny he knows best! 1
thekimmyowl
keep seeing that their keeper made an error for the first but lets be real about things, Windass could try that again and 99 out of 100 probably misses. credit to JW

They were clean through again when we were winning but ruled offside, famewo may have/nearly played him on but got lucky, then ss got in behind again but missed, so they got in behind 2-3 times for 1v1s. Need to learn to drop a few yards, be solid and counter away/when winning with our pace uptop, and not conceed silly goals like today/stoke game having just scored, but overall a well deserved courageous win, its on He may not have had the best game but a 3 for Famewo is very harsh.
Screen Door Slams
Beadle - 7.5 Did well again for me....seems to be handling a very pressurised situation really well at such a young age. Ihiekwe - N/A Famewo - 5 Gets an extra point for a better 2nd half but boy it was needed....his defending and especially his distribution in the first half was awful. Palmer - 7 Missed a great chance and a couple of silly fouls but all in all a very solid display. Valentin - 6 Quiet game , not saying he was hiding but needs to assert himself much more. Bannan - 7.5 Tireless....kept us ticking. Vaulks - 8.5 Ironically thought he was well below par first half but a monster second half and a wonderful 70,s tackle to set up the key moment of the game. Johnson - 8 As someone has said , thankfully we saw good Marv this week.....makes a real difference to us when he is "at it". Windass - 7 Much more like it , better commitment and a great finish. Ugbo - 6.5 Worked hard but saw little of the ball. Musaba - 7 Still frustrates but more good than bad this week. SUBS Diaby - 6.5 Some big challenges won. Gassama - 7.5 Great cameo , did exactly what was needed. Iorfa - 7 A little baffled at how DR seems to rate both Diaby and Famewo as better than Dom....has to start next week for me. Paterson and Smith - 6

Maybe even 100.
