But also the ref had a perfect view of the tackle and didn’t give it? Is that right? If so VAR shouldn’t be getting involved Ref was really close to it with a clear view ,and didn't see anything wrong with the tackle.

I’ll reiterate what I said - if the ref has a clear view of the challenge it shouldn’t go to VAR

enjoyyourfootball
Sunderland aren’t good enough to play through this press. They would have been better off going longer and having a battle with Newcastle, rather than trying to be a poor version of a premier league side that is getting picked apart easily
Night King
Sunderland have been pathetic today. Not laid a glove on Newcastle.

Surely playing it out only works if your technical ability is better than the opposite side. How can Sunderland expect to beat Newcastle that way when they're used to defending against this tactic from PL sides?
BridportOwl
Well done to Maidstone beating Stevenage. Comfortable win for us today and I would be delighted to get a home draw against them in the next round.

The only way is S6
How long can Blackburn keep hold of Szmodics? They aren’t getting promoted anytime soon & he’s scoring for fun.

Night King
Magic of the cup. So far only one team has beaten a team from a higher league in this seasons third round.
