Blatter
The point is that if they’re not injured or ill they go to work as normal and do what they always do when fit. They train, it’s what they’re paid to do.

SiJ
That's the current hospital admission rate according to the govt website. So pretty stable and a million miles off January. 1

It will be a lot.. right now, people aren’t going out as they want to be free to meet family on Xmas. Once that’s done people will go back to normal so cases will go way way higher. Hospital admissions will go past that January number easily in a month or so time without more restrictions. We have to just get on with it though and if it happens it happens. Lot of reports from South Africa suggesting it a pretty mild variant, so whilst hospital admissions will go up in Jan, it doesn't mean they'll be anywhere near what we had in January 2021. 1

Yes, I'm sure that cases will rise but I don't think hospital admissions will be anywhere near those of last winter. Think back to last January - the vaccine programme was only just starting, hardly anyone had had even one dose. Now millions of us have had three vaccinations. IMO this is what is keeping the hospital admissions so low compared with last January and, hopefully, will continue to do so.
