We have 7 central midfielder no cover is needed. Bannan, Wing, Byers, Paterson, Adeniran, FDB, Hutchinson.

What we need is at least 2 for centre backs so we don't have to play a full back there anymore. This mistake was made too often under Monk. No more.

Great point, our full back at centre back was at fault for the goal against Morecambe - it really has me worried against decent opposition if we played him there.

He miscontrolled an easy ball, gave away possession in a dangerous area, they won a corner and scored from it

At fault directly - no. Partly culpable - yes

Dunkley would have just headed it away, Palmer got sloppy

On first viewing, I thought it was Palmer who missed his header at the front post from their corner, too.

However, I just watched the highlights and I'm pretty sure it was Hunt.

I'm surprised I've not seen anything about that on here, as it looked like a pretty routine corner for one of our defenders to head clear, but none of them managed it.

Sadly for some on here it seems that if Palmer is in the side he's getting the blame regardless.

Agree 100%

1 stray pass in the game and it’s all they pick up on. Not the fact he was excellent throughout.

No it was Hunt , I mentioned it in another thread , he completely misjudged the flight of the ball

Thanks, hadn't seen that.

It was an unchallenged header, too - meat and potatoes for a defender, you'd think.

It happens, but to have two such basic errors from two of our back four within a minute of each other really undermined what had been a very good team performance up to that point.

Such a shame.

Keeper could have told him to leave it and he'd have had a simple catch, or he could have held his position and when Hunt missed it would have had a very simple catch, got caught in no man's land and couldn't adjust then it hit Adeniran, shocker of a goal to concede, but it should have been 3-0 at least by that point anyway, Brown with a bad miss, Gregory with a couple of poor misses that were put on a plate for him.

Positive news from Moore after today’s game that the specialist that has been consulted has confirmed the injury isn’t as bad as previously thought. Doesn’t need surgery and won’t be out until the new year. Seemed to suggest it’ll be weeks rather than months out.
