Constantly Facing Adversity

Recommended Posts

Depressing that in the build up to the game yesterday from every media outlet we were described as a club in crisis or club in turmoil.

The fact that most debate on here and social media is around the running of the club rather than how we’re doing on the pitch says it all.

Sorry state of affairs.

Do our fans have special thick skin to be able to cope though ?

There are different attitudes

Some are worried and concerned and rightly point out issues
Some attack anyone who expresses any concerns as 'not proper fans'
Some just believe everything the chairman/club says as gospel so to them there's no issues whatsoever and Chansiri should be praised as 'he's putting his own money in'

That's the definition of 'support'.

Waving your flag at another League championship win coz you watch Man Utd or Barcelona is easy but boring.

Battling adversity to gain the odd promotion or seasons in the sun is what a proper football supporter is all about.

On the football pitch 100% totally agree

We've been suffocated off the pitch though

Its weird that the whole country can see it - but there is a significant proportion of our fans on here that will shout you down for suggesting it

Over the last 5 years - anxiety and facing adversity, sporadic moments of fun

Over the last 10 - same

Over the last 15 - same

Over the last 20 - same

Just sort of accepted isn’t it.

Tough on the fans.

Don’t you think we’re pretty much the same as fans of most other clubs?

Could be on 6pm headline News that this club is a complete mess and Chansiri would continue as he is

I just can’t get my head around someone having so much invested in something and being the position that we’re in, that they are against change. It’s bemusing - if I had £1000 invested in something and it was going down £50 a day - I’d be looking at it by Day 3/4 and thinking what have I done wrong and asking for advice.

Nuts

Just imagine if we were a genuine small club, 3000 coming through the gate, fighting against the elements and a game that considers us too small for it, and staying up and surprising people by fighting against the odds.  That's adversity.

Instead, we're a well supported club, we have had a good name within the game (and still do, historically), and our adversity such as points deductions are because we attempted to cheat other clubs and the rules of the game that others are able to live by.  We have no manager because we choose not to have a manager.  We can't sign anyone because we're under an embargo, because we won't release our accounts.   These are all choices we've made as a club.

We've blown approx £250m on utter and complete poo .  That's not adversity, that's incompetence.

Your right there are different attitudes

Some are worried and concerned but don't want to get involved which is their right

Some attack those that don't show concern as 'not proper fans' or happy clappers

Some get attacked and called thicko's for not having the same views as those who are against the owner

Some fans just want to go and watch Sheffield Wednesday and get on with their lives after

It takes all sorts
