Tony Pulis’ Record

Three teams won’t be going up automatically from league 1 next season and we don’t have the players to play that way - Pulis is the right man at this moment- I don’t want to watch his style but we need to start winning lots of games and quickly. I didn’t particularly like Carlos second season as it was boring but at least we were winning

.....and still scored 60 goals

I'm genuinely interested to know why.

We don't need a temporary stop gap manager which is what he would be.

We actually need a manager that can build something and take us forward long term.

Everyone knows what Pulis brings, theres enough quality in this team to stay up.

Can Wednesday for once have a bit of vision and forward thinking.

I would back Pulis if he came obviously but imo awful appointment.

There are lots of posts with real stats, no point me repeating but if you want my opinion

Right now this this club needs to consolidate, we are flying by the seat of our pants and it's truly awful

Bring in experience and build from there, it's a no brainer

I get what you're saying btw 100%,

He was sacked for his record with us, not his career.

Monk Championship win ratio 37.4%

Monk win ratio Owls 29%

Pulis Championship win ratio 41%

Yup this is true.

But both managers on equal footing

Monk at Middlesbrough 46.2%

Pulis at Middlesbrough 43.75%

He took over a Monk side and couldn't improve it...

Hope he proves me wrong

I'm not choosy when it comes to a Pulis alternative.

Since you ask, I would prefer Cook.

Ah sorry. Thought you had some juicy info on it not being Pulis.

I think I’m coming across as being Pulis’ No 1 fan. I’m really not, but by comparison to several of the possible candidates he’s Pep.

And if Monk had a 46% win ratio with us this thread wouldn’t exist.

Im sure we all agree with your final sentiment. And I genuinely think that after a few wins we’ll all be pretty persuaded. Bruce turned us all very quickly.

This is exactly what I think.

For what it’s worth I think Monk would have kept us up. It wouldn’t have been pretty, it’d have been frustrating and I don’t think it’d have been by much but I do think he’d have kept us up.

I’d have rather have given Monk the chance to build something that resembles moving forward, no matter how painful and slow that might be, than to do what we’re doing now. Pulis isn’t long term, and if he’s not long term then what’s the point? What’s the end goal? What’s chansiris master plan?

I think we’re all in agreement that for whoever our manager is it’s a big job to turn us from the team we are now to a team challenging at the top. And it’s not going to happen this season either. So why hire someone just for a season? And if he’s hired him with a long term view then it’s a really, really bad choice in my opinion.
