Tony Pulis’ Record

No way would I contemplate going down the Pulis route, but I might be tempted to start Rhodes as a 9, at least until we can bring in a proper 9. I’d set up 4-3-3, with Harris and Reach operating as wingers, on their correct flanks, with Rhodes, or even Marriott in the middle.Play through the midfield and when we do use the wings, mix it up a bit, not a continuous stream of lofted crosses

When you have Reach and Harris on the left and right respectively you get a mix of crosses and low cross balls. Exactly what strikers thrive upon.

God knows why Monk didn’t want that.

Is he's good why does he keep getting sacked?

Unless you are Sir Alex Fergusson you will as a manager get the sack. It comes with the territory and is unavoidable.

The same reason that Charlton sacked Curbishley, Bolton sacked Allardyce, we sacked Gray. Clubs thought they were being held back back a manager when there's a fair chance that they were helping them punch above their weight for the players they had.

For the money he had in the premier league they obviously wanted a better style of football at Stoke, hence the Bojans and Shaqiris but it soon fell apart. He probably should have done better there with those players but that's not where we're shopping at this stage and I'd be happy to punch above our weight instead of under it for a change. It's been too long with too much underachievement

We've had to endure so much crap football over the last 2 or 3 seasons.

I really cannot face the prospect of having to now watch a Tony Pulis team.

I know we need someone who can keep us up but surely there's another manager who can achieve that. Is it too much to ask for someone who can avoid relegation and a modicum of entertainment?

Im sure there are.

Eddie Howe for example.

Championship career:-

Burnley 2011-12 76 matches 1.37ppg, avg 64GF 64GA

Bournemouth 2013-15 92 matches 1.7ppg, avg 82GF 55GA

Then 5 years in the Prem.

Cant argue with that. Would he come? That would be exciting.

Howe would be amazing but I'd be astonished if he would consider us.

Yeah - we've properly been overdosed on that in the last year haven't we?

I'm sick of it

Sick of seeing it week in week out

All that entertaining football nonsense

Sick of us being so entertained like that

Thank god Monk's gone and there's finally an end to being entertained

You can always go to the Cinema.

I like Big Tone, but this squad does not suit his style. I honestly don’t know what he would make of our midfield and lack of presence up top.

Stats are pretty impressive wherever he has been , obviously the brand of football is not always pretty on the eye but at the end of the day if it gets results it keeps people from moaning generally , think some people get too obsessed with playing styles and playing the ‘right ‘ way. On another note why do people always refer to it’s just about stopping up? Whilst I appreciate that was the case a fortnight ago , we’re now on 6 pts only 2 out of the zone and it’s only 11 games in, if we get on a run there’s no reason we can’t push on and who knows !

So you're saying that he got sacked from every job because things didn't work out?

Where did I state every job?

Not sure about which clubs but he got sack at Leeds, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace.

Big Ron was best manager we've had and look how many clubs he got sack at.

Alex Ferguson was sacked by St Mirren in 1978.
He took St Mirren to an industrial tribunal claiming unfair dismissal and lost.
The tribunal concluded that Ferguson was "particularly petty" and "immature".

Confirms even more my statement about managers being sacked.
