News Owls Journo For The Star

Recommended Posts

Take the paywalls out of the equation and I think this is a good time for online SWFC journalism. Nancy at the Athletic, Dom at the Examiner and Alex and now Joe at the Star are all writing detailed and intelligent stuff. Long may it continue.

It certainly does; he talks a load of balls and his views are ‘balanced’ only by having a large chip on each shoulder! In other words he’s a typical Blunt.

How do you know that ? WTF:

It's a welcome move for sure, but you have to wonder about the viewing figures for all this hard work, what with The Star being behind a paywall these days etc..

Are you referring to the paywall that stops you reading more than 3 articles a week (or whatever the number is)? If so, you can get around that in about 5 seconds. lol

Yeah

I know about the way round it

The fact I've not been bothered to do it anymore tells you everything about the perception of The Star's website

lol

Aye

Can see The Examiner (where Dom is now) overtaking The Star big time as it's free for everyone to read as much as they like

It annoys me that the URL is Examiner (A Huddersfield paper) but akl their other papers are branded Live

IE: LeedsLive

BristolLive

Its FAR better than the star though

Decent move by the Star. Always speaks sense on Twitter. It's nice for them to get an actual Wednesday fan on the team. Not saying the others don't want the club to do well but it does always feel different when it's an actual fan of the club writing the articles.

Aye

And it's just not worth it. (not a criticism of any of the Star's journalist's stories although I've not seen them because of the paywall)

Dom's stuff on The Examiner is free, and pretty darn good.

There's other SWFC news outlets too.

Being behind a paywall will kill The Star off

Excuse my ignorance, but what’s a paywall?
