Mr C is trying to do a swap deal for Murphy.

Can just imagine that.

DC: "I want Dwight Gayle + £3m for Jacob Murphy"

Fat Ashley: "No"

DC: "Fine, see you in court"

Thats the thing, Newcastle are offering him as a free loan to championship clubs, the only kicker to that is upon promotion they want £20 million.

If we was given a choice to give up 20million of our premiership money right now to for a place in the premiership and Gayle right now I’d snap anyone’s hands off

Newcastle to pay his wages during the loan.

But recieve £20 million for the player IF we get promoted.

I'd go for that.

What so if we get promoted we automatically buy the player or is that just 20mil loan fee? How will they enforce a sale then? DC could just say no regardless of contract details.

So if we plan not to go up then we save £20m.  That will sort out FFP

DC: "If Gayle fires us up, I give you 20 million for him. If Gayle doesn't fire us up, you give me 20 million. Deal?"

If he fires us into the Premier League then the £20M would be a bargain to buy the player

If he doesn't, then we gave the ball a kick and it hasn't cost us owt.

Win win.

Contracts to this affect to be signed before the beginning of the loan move

Yea but to buy the player all parties have to agree so if Gayle didnt like the offer we put on the table then surely that's a no deal and we havnt paid a penny. Cant see this working in Newcastle favour.

Though 20 million isn't much in PL terms, that could get us 2 or 3 quality players in the PL.

Risky and what happens if we go up but between them the EFL and PL block our promotion? I'm assuming we'd still technically owe Newcastle the money?

What 20 mil gets 3 quality players in prem its not 1990

Just be our luck to finally get promoted in 20 years time when he’s probably late 40s and still have to then pay 20 million for him
