The reason is that we were constantly selling out Olive Grove and we needed to locate to accommodate our swelling attendances. There were two options for the move away from Olive Grove: 1. An expensive piece of land in Carbrook/Attercliffe with great transport links to the city centre 2. A dirt cheap piece of land in a sparsely populated area just outside Sheffield called Owlerton that had poor links to the city centre. We chose Owlerton and our attendances dropped for a period of time. Apparently, the vast majority of our fans used to walk to and from the ground on match days until the city stated to sprawl and the transport network started to expand. Or Warnock for selling the player who took said penalty. Or Webber for missing a massively easy chance. It's almost like the Tevez affair wasn't actually anything to do with it.
