I think I may be wrong but they can be thrown or it is to stop fans swallowing them.

The human race has managed to evolve over 10,000's years from living in cave to where we are now but we have to take bottle caps off so we don't hurt ourselves or others.

Make sure you take one with you from home WTF:

Both health and safety,  next we be told we cant bring in any coins for fear of someone swallowing them.

Bring a spare top with you in your pocket.

Should have also said and removed before entering ground or was that just for Saturday.Does someone sit in office making stupid things up,flags, flasks, umbrellas now bottle tops?

Buy a bag of 300 of these.

And take a pocket full to the game.

You’ll be able to seal up your bottle of Diet Sprite dead easy. Fresh for half time.

Also, you’ll also have half a pocket full of spare bottle caps which are handy for chucking at players that aren’t trying/aren’t good enough/play for Leeds

Coins will be banned next; the out of control, deviant scum on the south stand will be the first - no coincidence that everything is going contactless! Next season cheapskates will be banned and a minimum £20 spend on all contactless purchases will come in to play (but you’ll probably get a free flare with a qualifying purchase).

You can't get most things into the stadium now so they can sell it at you for 3 times the price  for safety reason but Leeds fans managing to get these in without being checked.

Image result for a flare

Forget the bottle caps how about some of the stewards visit specksavers. :duntmatter:

It's Specsavers.  Think you need glasses lol

I was told that the reason lids are taken off is because the empty bottles are trip hazards on stairs. Obviously if you step on a bottle with a lid on its more dangerous than one without as that would crush down. I always assumed it was to make it less chuckable. Maybe it's both. Either way it seems a bit much.

I like this reason better

a bottle that can be resealed can be filled with other liquid (for example, "gentleman's liquid"), then resealed and thrown to disastrous consequences.

To be honest, if I'm going to get hit by a bottle of wee wee, I would prefer the lid was on...
