The whole situation is quite frankly embarrassing and it’s best that we move on I agree we need to move on but there should be an enquiry about the signing...the 'Watford connection'...the medical etc..this signing stinks more than most imo

Whichever his latest injury is. He needs to move on and restore some pride for himself. He does come across as quite mercenary now. And I get he has a contract and these things happen, but how does he look at himself in the mirror? (Without getting injured?). He doesn’t he has something In his eye !! Lichfield alien
Mcgugan debunked the myth that 'footballers just want to play'...we are stuck with abdi to the very last day of his contract..about another 2 years ...unless there's a retirement and insurance pay out on the horizon..but I doubt it cus it's always little niggles.....sad times..but at least we've still got Jordan Rhodes.. Yet he should ignore specialist advice and potentially risk his sight?!? Sorry mate, I get you like him and I wanted him to do well here but it is beyond defending now. He doesn't have a manager that plays him in a position he doesn't play, he just doesn't play. As someone said, one full match in all the time he's been here. I don't expect him to ignore specialist advice and have never said that. That's just you defending him.
Almat
I'd love to know how much each minute he's spent on the pitch has cost the club so far. I bet it's a scary figure....

I cant see how anyone can believe abdi has been a successful signing for us. So much promise and obvious talent, that with the right players around him would have been the difference between play offs and automatic promotion in my eyes, seems we’ll never see the best the of him. Rose tinted glasses removed, he needs sereing off as he no longer fits our vision. N0rtherner
As with Rhodes and others, we've made some quality signings on paper, who've turned out quite poo for us. Whether it's to unfortunate injuries like Abdi or players signed who didn't fit with the scheme in place, such as proven Championship striker Rhodes who has gone on to leave anything but a lasting impression on us, or even the whole Winnall debacle, signed before Rhodes then never utilised and suddenly some disciplinary issue with Fessi and shipped off in a bullshit loan deal for Butterfield... Boyd too no exception; meant to strengthen our wingers but first failed to find his place, and then was off with shoulder injury for a long time and is only now back, and not quite at the capacity we expected. Matias is another example; whether always injured or simply fell out of favour with CC. So - is it always the player - or does the club need to take a long, hard look at itself in player acquisition, because we sure seem to screw it up over and over. Bringing in someone we think we need, who turn out quite the opposite.

Getting 30 grand a week? Just over 3 grand for each minute on the pitch? All supposition of course but DC stated our biggest earner is on 34k/week and he won't be way down the pecking order salary-wise... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/almen-abdi/leistungsdaten/spieler/9966/saison/2017#gesamt Edited March 16, 2018 by Almat

The reality is that he's contracted for next season and it would probably cost us significant money (wages compensation) to offload him. The past two season's don't auger well but his previous career says that there is a very good player there. He needs to get and stay fit after a good pre-season. He could yet be an important player for us next season.
