You are dead right there Parkfield ..

The1800 twin carb Tc in a Marina coupe was the same engine they put in the MGBGT..

Miles too powerful engine for the atrocious handling of the car ....

REALLY i never drove one, but the BGT wasn't like sh*t on a blanket at sticking to the road, from memory they did do a SC too?

Typical British Leyland build quality mate..

I think they just had crates and crates of stuff and didn't know what to do with them ..

You can imagine in between industrial action and three day weeks the boss is asked "what we making this week ?

Anything as long as we make summat"

Hence some of the weird colour matches on seats and interior  to car colours

They did Single Carbs too mate in Marinas the one I inherited from my late Grandad was an immaculate garaged  TC Coupe 1800cc.. great engine, the rest was a death trap ...

Photo is stock ...but its exactly same colour and year too as one I had ....

The same engine went in a Sherpa Van!!

FFS ...lol

I was born in a house just off Penistone Road near Presto Tools. I actually lived on Penistone Rod from 1960 to 1970. It was a sh*thole but we didn't know it. I remember it well even after nearly 50 years. We only left there when they demolished all the houses.

I've lived away from Sheffield since 87 and can't believe how much it's changed. I general I only get back for matches so I don't see much of the city. I was back a couple of weeks ago and ended up going from Hagg Hill over Crosspool and down the back of the Moor then walking on the Moor and Fargate, I couldn't believe the change since I left.

The road system is a nightmare but it's turned into a nice place to be. The people are still brilliant.

I was born on Cottham street lived and there until I was 7 and they knocked them all down.  I used to play in the houses they were knocking down.

Think that’s an artists impression of the time of what it could have looked like when redeveloped.

C&A never looked like that.

that would make sense.

it looks like it's been jet washed at a time when people had 1 or 2 coal fires.

shitty brown and dysentery beige were 2 of the colour options. that said i can't believe how long white has run for this time around, it's like the emperor's new clothes, a guy across the road has a 08 m3 in white, and it was one of the first, but white has been running nigh on ten years now.

It s Fitzallen Square. It's a bit before my time but I remember those trams as a kid in the late 50's. There was a cinema just out of shot to the right which I seem to remember was the Classic in my day.
