Yes. Burrows used to run a regular service from Sheffield to Leeds via Barnsley, with SheffieldCorporation and Yorkshire Traction running the others  and had a splendid coach service They used to run the Wombwell Banch coaches and also the Hoyland branch coaches. My early trips in the late 40s early 50s, were on Tommy Burrows Coaches.

would the wombwell branch be out of 'the anglers rest' and hoyland 'the star'?

or was the hoyland branch from somewhere else?

Some of us remember it before it was a dual carriageway and trams used to run along it.

I was born in a house just off Penistone Road near Presto Tools. I actually lived on Penistone Rod from 1960 to 1970. It was a sh*thole but we didn't know it. I remember it well even after nearly 50 years. We only left there when they demolished all the houses.

I've lived away from Sheffield since 87 and can't believe how much it's changed. I general I only get back for matches so I don't see much of the city. I was back a couple of weeks ago and ended up going from Hagg Hill over Crosspool and down the back of the Moor then walking on the Moor and Fargate, I couldn't believe the change since I left.

The road system is a nightmare but it's turned into a nice place to be. The people are still brilliant.

A child of the ABC streets then. Langsett Road or Hillfoot pupil. Players from the area I think Albert Broadbents Dad used to live in the area, Also Andrew Burgin made a debut for the Owls in a 1964 Third round clash with Everton, they got a last minute leveller at Goodison Park but won the Hillsborough replay 3-0.

I well remember there being some form of works where the Wednesdayite car park is. They used to allow coaches (not cars) and many of the SWSC branches came in their own coaches and parked there Places as far afield as Wombwell & Hoyland to the North, to Killamarsh & Creswell to the South.

We came out of the car park and went to a small building on way to South Stand to the 'Development Fund Office'

I remember calling in that office prematch to pick up free tickets.

Dad was an agent and you got a free ticket in standing areas for each ‘ book ‘ you had.

It was when Dennis Woodhead was running the office and often Derek Dooley was around.

Opposite side, Woodgrove Lane. I knew the ABC streets though. I was told I was related to everyone who lived in those streets in one way or another. I've no idea if it was true. It was certainly like a little village round there.

It was a pain as a kid,  if I misbehaved I could guarantee my mother would know about it before I got home. Everyone knew one another.

Sat down at the back (bags of sand to keep it stable in the wet )

The headrest are not S spec they were same as Rs200 Escort...( web netting centres )

Still nice though, not seen a yellow Mark 3  they tended to be white black or metallic (metallic was all the rage then wasn't it ?)

Bit of Bodie n Doyle on Owlstalk

Wouldn't mind having it on the drive ...........
